You are my Kryptonite

Chapter 7

*Hey guys! How's it going? So I'm finally updating after like 4 days (such a long time 😂) but I wanted you all to know that for probably the rest of this book, it'll be separated by POVs of Alex, Lena and Kara (maybe others) anyways enjoy!*

ALEX'S POV
"Lena, leave now! It's too dangerous for you here!" I shouted to Lena, trying to urge her to leave before getting hurt like I did.

     Reign crashed in through the ceiling of the DEO headquarters and debris fell everywhere, leading to the gash on the side of my head. Nobody even saw it coming. Winn was working on tracking her, but nothing was coming up, until she blew through the DEO.

I pushed open the door to Kara's room and rushed over to her, tears flowing down my bloodied cheeks. "Kara, listen to me. I need you to try and get up and hide. Reign is here and she will  not stop until you're dead and I am not going to let that happen."

Kara stared into my eyes, giving me a depressed, and stubborn look. "No.. Alex I'm not going to leave you here. I'd rather die with you then let you die alone, knowing I could've at least tried to do something to help you."

Tears kept flowing down my face as I gripped her bedsheets angrily. Kara was my sister and I loved her, but we both knew that if she stayed here, she would die without her powers. I couldn't let her just die right here, and I had to do something. I flung the sheets off of Kara and picked her up, bridal style.

"Alex?! What the hell are you doing?!" Kara yelped, surprised from me picking her up so suddenly.

"I'm saving your stubborn ass, so shut up and let me save you!" I snapped back at Kara in frustration and anger. I bolted down the steps, as fast as I could, trying to avoid more falling debris from the sky and kryptonite bullets spewing all around. Reign was flying somewhere above me, clearly aware I was carrying Supergirl, her eyes following me like lasers, burning into the back of my head.

Reign flew in front of my path and put her hands on her hips, smirking mockingly as I stumbled to a stop. "You are all fools. Thinking you could just waltz out with Supergirl, untouched by me. I think I should finally show you how strong a worldkiller, really is!"

      I tried to dodge the incoming laser beams, but I was too slow and Reign knocked me backwards, flying me into one of the stone pillars making Kara fall from my arms. She dropped to the hard floor and I saw blood from a wound on her head, while I heard my back crack as I was thrown back. My head also hit the concrete, blurring my vision and making me dizzy. I felt the back of my neck and saw blood. It's most likely I have a concussion and a broken back, which is not good. I need to help Kara.

I lifted my head up slightly, wincing as I felt pain in the back of my neck and saw Kara limping over to me, with that worried look on her face. Why isn't she running away? I'm going to be fine! She's the one that won't be fine unless she gets out of here.

"Oh, Rao! Alex are you ok?!" Kara asked, her voice cracking and examining my body for injuries.

I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by, Reign speeding by and grabbing Kara by her neck and pinning her against a wall nearby. I could see Kara struggling and kicking in Reign's grasp, making her tighten her grip. I need to do something, and fast or else Reign would win and we wouldn't have any hope left.

Quickly I scanned the room, which was in ruins at this point, for a gun somewhere nearby. There was one a few feet away me and thank god it still had kryptonite bullets in it. I crawled over, reaching to pick it up, trying to aim at Reign but my vision was still blurry making it hard to get a clear shot.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, as I pulled the trigger twice. I heard a yelp of pain and a thump on the ground which I assumed was Kara. I cracked my eyes open slightly, seeing a blurred black and gray figure staggering around, and I aimed and shot twice more, making it fall to the ground. I think it was Reign...hopefully it was Reign. Did we win..? I heard muffled voices all around me and boots running on the floor as I closed my eyes again.

"Alex! Kara!" I heard pain in the male voice and guessed it was J'onn. I heard people yelling, ordering "her",which I think was Kara, and "the agent",me I think...into the medbay upstairs. Was Kara ok? Where is everyone? It's all dark...

        I fluttered my eyes to see J'onn standing over me, eyes puffy and red, with a pained smile on his face. "You finally woke up, huh?"

I blinked a few more times, letting my eyes adjust to the light and looked around trying to remember where I was. I'm in the DEO medbay? How..? Oh shit, Kara!

I bolted upwards and screamed in pain, remembering my back. "FUCK! That hurts like a bitch..." I rubbed my back and J'onn frowned at me.

"Be careful. It's been almost two days since you've been out, and you have a broken back and a moderate concussion."

My eyes widened in surprise. A moderate concussion? I didn't think it was that bad, but clearly, I underestimated the consequences of going up against Reign like that.

"Whatever.. where's..where's Kara? How is she? Is she ok? Does Lena know?" I sputtered all my questions out at once, getting J'onn by surprise.

He sighed and looked at the ground with a grim expression on his face. "She isn't in good shape, Alex. Currently, Kara is in a medically induced coma because of how badly Reign attacked her. She now has more broken ribs, a grade three concussion, a badly fractured arm and we don't know if she will wake up, remembering anything."

"What?!" I yelled. It's been two days and  Kara's condition seems to be worsening, yet no one thought to wake me up?! "And I've been out for how long!? Two goddamn days and no one wakes me up to inform me about my sisters, fucking possibly, fatal condition, huh?! I assume you also have not even bothered to contact Lena about any of this either! 'Cause I can promise that when she finds out about all of this, you can bet that she will not be fucking happy!"

J'onn pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed again, quietly beginning to cry. "I'm sorry, Alex. I care about Kara too, as if she was my daughter and I wanted to wake you up and tell you but I couldn't. You weren't in any condition to receive this kind of news. And you're right I haven't even talked to Lena, but if it makes you feel any better we caught Reign and she is in a max security cell at the desert facility."

     J'onn rubbed his eyes and walked out of the room, without another word leaving me to ponder everything happening. Oh god I hope Kara's ok.. she's my fucking sister after all and if she dies I'll never forgive myself. Ever.

*Oof. That's rough, man well I updated. Hurray! This entire story I have planned out and writing this entire chapter I wanted to curl up in a corner and just cry. Ok on a good note I have like seventy reads! Yay! 😂 (I know it's not a lot 🤷‍♀️😅) But thank you for reading my terrible story and actually adding it to reading lists and voting on it.
