You are my Kryptonite

Chapter 2

Alex rushed Supergirl into the DEO headquarters, shouting at the agents demanding for immediate medical attention. Agents hurried over, wheeling Supergirl into one of the medical rooms and hooking her up to the IV's and giving her oxygen. Alex assisted the doctors who were hooking her up to everything, then she flipped on the solar lamps. She stood, watching Supergirl lie on the medical bed as the doctors were determining her medical state.

A younger doctor with dirty blond curls and light grey eyes shuffled up to Alex, handing her a clipboard then brushing a few locks of hair out of his face.

"From the looks of it she was shot with a kryptonite gun in the lower abdomen very close to her hip. She has a couple of broken ribs but aside from that she will need to undergo a major surgery and we'll need to put her in an induced coma." He mumbled glancing at the wounded hero.

Alex nodded at the doctors and they began to prep Supergirl for her surgery. With a grim scowl on her face, Alex pushed past the other agents and stride out of the medbay without another word.

Winn jogged up time her, looking paler than ever. "Alex! What the hell happened?! She was fine one second then the next thing you know she was on the ground!"

Alex didn't look make eye contact with Winn, and instead focused on the computer screen before her.

"Reign somehow got a kryptonite gun." She stated plainly. Alex rubbed her face and ran a hand through her hair, obviously stressed out with everything that was happening.

She leaned over the table, head hanging then snapped back angrily. "I don't know how the fuck she even got one, but she did! Reign shot her and Supergirl's lost a massive amount of blood and somehow has at least two broken ribs. We need to put her in an induced coma so we can operate on her without her waking up and going into shock."

Winn's brow furrowed in confusion. "Wha-? A kryptonite gun? How did..? Is the bullet still in her stomach?"

Alex nodded, biting back the poison in her voice. "And don't even ask me how she has broken ribs, but since Reign absorbed Purity and Pestilence's powers, she's ten times as powerful as she was before!"

She threw her arms up in the air and sighed loudly. Winn only stood, speechless and in shock. He opened his mouth to speak, but Alex was one step ahead. She locked eyes with Winn and raised her eyebrows. "I need you, Winn, to help me out and figure out how Reign even got a kryptonite gun. Got it?"

"Yeah, on it. Anything else I could do to help?" He responded in a much more worried tone and grief in his voice.

"Uhhh... Yes, actually! I need you to call Lena and get her over here now. She might be able to help and I need to talk with her."

Winn put up a thumbs up in response, slightly confused. Lena? Why would Alex need her? Winn thought to himself.

      Alex sat down in the chair next to Kara's hospital bed, exhausted from the surgery of removing the kryptonite bullet from Kara's abdomen. It had been three long hours, and Alex wasn't the only one feeling worn. Lena had driven to the DEO headquarters immediately after Winn called her, so she had assisted Alex and some other DEO doctors operate on Supergirl. Lena leaned on the table opposite to where Alex was sitting and started to quietly sob.

Alex looked up from the ground at Lena. "Lena? What's wrong? We removed the kryptonite bullet from Ka-" Alec quickly caught her mistake, covering it with a light cough. "....Supergirl's stomach, shouldn't she be waking up soon?"

Lena chuckled at what Alex had said, while tears were still rolling down her face. It wasn't as easy as it seemed to just remove the bullet and everything would be fine. The kryptonite was in Supergirl for so long, that it in some way, poisoned her bloodstream.
