You are my Kryptonite

Chapter 5

      Kara woke up feeling sore, and her head was pounding. She blinked a few times and realized someone was holding her, and not just anyone, it was Lena. But Kara didn't remember Lena even coming back to the DEO recovery room. What had happened? Kara's mind just kept going blank when she tried to remember what happened. She turned around so she was facing Lena again and shook her awake.

       "Lena...Lena wake up.."

      "Hmm.. just a few more minutes..." Lena tightened her grip on Kara's waist, making Kara yelp in pain. Her eyes quickly opened and she released her arms, furrowing her brow in regret.

"Oh, Kara I'm sorry. I completely forgot that you, ya know, just barely came out of an intense fight alive.. sorry.." Kara rubbed her waist and lifted up her shirt revealing a huge cluster of bruises. Upon seeing Kara's abs, Lena bit her lip and blushed.

"Shit.." Kara mumbled under her breath as she examined the bruises. "I didn't know that was there..." Kara lifted her shirt further, revealing her blue sports bra, as well as small bruises and cuts covering a huge majority on Kara's chest and stomach. Lena gasped as she examined the cuts and bruises, then saw a bandage covering what must've been the bullet wound under Kara's chest.

"Oh my god... Kara! How did Reign even manage to cut your skin and bruise it? I thought only kryptonite could do that, but Reign only had the gun.. right..?" Kara was silent trying to remember the fight but her mind was blurry and she could only recall waking up after the surgery. It pained Kara knowing she had failed and that Reign was still out there killing innocent people. Tears began to well up in Kara's eyes, but she tried to hold them back.

"I-I.. can't remember.. anything before the surgery...." Kara sniffled and couldn't keep the tears back anymore. Lena hugged her tightly, as the Kara let her tears flow. All the pain she was feeling was finally being let out, but it didn't make her feel better. She let Reign go and knowing she couldn't stop Reign only made her feel worse.

As Kara's sobs rang through the room, Alex slipped into the room unnoticed and leaned in the doorframe, watching Lena and Kara quietly.

Alex looked at the ground and sighed. "Sup-Kara, Lena. Umm good morning.." Lena and Kara both turned around, startled.

    "Lena...can I have a minute with Kara..? I need to check her vitals and see if you've gotten any of your powers back." Lena nodded, left the room and waited outside.

Alex turned towards Kara and grinned as she checked the monitors connected to Kara and examined her cluster of bruises and cuts. "Sooo... you told Lena? And you guys slept together too?"

Kara's eyes widened, her face turning beet red. "Not like that!"

    "But, you like her...? And you slept in the same bed..." Kara's face is still burning and Alex's eyes are raised, accusingly. "Kara I'm just putting two and two together. What went down last night?"

     "Well, umm we uh talked..." Kara took a quick glance at Alex as she checked her blood pressure with an expression on her face, telling Kara to go on. "And we might've...possibly..kissed.. but nothing happened! I swear! Just innocent cuddles and talking."

    Alex listened to Kara blabber on as she checked her vitals and then finally interrupted the blabbering.

    "Ok, Kara let me just stop you there for a quick second. I need you to try and use some of your powers, so I can see if you're condition has improved at all, and so far it doesn't look like anything's changed."

      She scribbled a few notes down on the clipboard that was attached to the wall, then helped Kara off the bed.

       First, Kara started off easy to try and use her x-ray vision to see inside of a box filled with medicine. Unsuccessful. Next, she tried to use her heat vision on an ice cube. Nothing. Then, Kara tried to use her freeze breath to cool down a burning match. Nada. Lastly, Kara attempted to hover above the ground, which ended up with Alex catching Kara from jumping off her hospital bed.

Alex watched Kara lie back down and checked off a few things in her clipboard and frowned. "Unfortunately Kara, it looks like you still should be powerless for the next few weeks or maybe even a month. So you just need to stay in bed for now, ok?" The room was silent and Kara was debating whether or not to tell Alex or her memory loss, decided against it and chose to argue instead.

     "Awwww! Come on, Alex! You know you can't keep me here forever!" Kara whined in a childish tone.

     "I wasn't planning on keeping you here forever, Kara. You need to heal. You still two broken ribs and the miscellaneous cuts and bruises on your stomach. So please, for once listen to me and stay here until you're healed, then you and Lena can bone or whatever."

     Kara freaked out at the last statement and covered her face in embarrassment. "Alex!"
 
      She only giggled, leaving the room and letting Lena slip in. She relaxed on the edge of the bed, crossing her legs and filing her arms then gave Kara a mischievous grin. "So..... when are you going to ask me out on a date, Miss. Danvers?"

Kara blushed and started stuttering, sheepishly. "Uh..well..I-I wanted t-to ask you..ask you on a date but... I'm here...so I didn't want to be a burden...or too much since you have a lot of work.. and with Reign and everything going-"

Lena cut off Kara's blabbering with a delicate finger to her lips. Kara stopped and locked eyes with Lena, making her look like a lovesick puppy. "You know, Kara you are adorable when you blabber on. And just so you know, you'll never be a burden for me."

Kara blushed again and wrapped her arms around Lena's neck. "Well...then, Miss. Luthor, would you like to go on a date with me? I-I mean ya don't have to...since...since it'll just be here, because Alex is forcing me to stay in this room until I am better..."

     "I would love to go on a date with you and it doesn't matter where we are, as long as I'm with you." Lena kissed Kara again, this time biting Kara's lip, leading her to let out a soft moan in Lena's mouth. Lena quickly pulled away, eyebrows raised, surprised by Kara.

     "Well, well, it seems like you are full of surprises Kara Danvers. I hope I get to see more tonight." Lena winked at her, making Kara blush furiously. She then got up from the chair and kissed the top of Kara's head before leaving.

      "Wait, Lena where are you going?" Kara questioned, sounding almost worried.

Lena laughed. "Kara, don't worry darling. I'm just going back to my apartment to get changed and make a few calls, so I can stay here with you for the next few days- that is if you're ok with that...?"

      "Oh!" Kara's face turned rosy as she said that and smiled like an idiot. "Yes, I'd love nothing more."

      "Well, I'll see you later then. Bye, love." Lena turned around and left the room, Kara's face still plastered with her silly smile. As Lena left the DEO, she thought of could've just died watching Kara blush like an idiot. It was just so adorable, Lena couldn't resist.

*sorry this chapter was such garbage. I haven't had any inspiration and I've been stumped on ideas of what I should do but I think I finally have an idea so stay posted!*
