When I wake up in the morning, Jorge's not in bed with me. I feel around for him before even opening my eyes. I squint my eyes trying to get used to the light. I start to get worried the he left before I hear him singing softly in the shower. He's singing a song he heard online while he was scrolling though his phone last night.
I smile to myself before crawling out of bed and walking to the bathroom. When I open the door he pokes his head around the curtain and smiles at me.
"Did I wake you up?" Little drops of water drip from his hair onto his chest and roll down his body.
"No, I just missed you," I slide my boxers down my legs and get into the shower, behind him.
"I was gone for like, five minutes," Jorge giggles and turns around to face me. "And you were sleeping."
"I could feel that you weren't in bed with me," I kiss his red cheeks and reach around him to grab the loofa and body wash. I pour some soap onto the loofa and rub it against his shoulder.
"I already washed there," Jorge smirks at me.
"I'm just making sure you're extra clean," I laugh. I know it makes no sense, and it's probably bad for his skin, but I'll take any excuse to touch him.
"You're an idiot," Jorge giggles. I rub the soap across every inch of his skin and admire every freckle or scar. There's a scar on his left knee from where he fell down as a kid. The one on his right forearm is from when he burned himself trying to make breakfast for his little sister when his mom was at work.
"I love you," Jorge whispers so quietly I almost can't hear him. He runs the loofa across my back and kisses my shoulder blade softly.
"I love you," I turn around to face him. He blushes and fights back a smile. He leans forward and kisses me. He bites down on my bottom lip and lets it flop back into place.
When we finish showering, Jorge and I dry off in the bathroom before brushing our teeth. He makes funny faces at me through the mirror making me laugh so hard I almost choke on the toothpaste.
Jorge runs back to my bed and gets under the covers."Cuddle me," Jorge smiles at me.
"You're so lazy," I laugh. I slide into bed next to him and he rests his head on my chest.
"Well, what would you like to do? Everything we could do is in public," Jorge replies sassily.
"Okay, first, ouch. Second, this is perfect," I roll my eyes and wrap my arms around him.
A movie and some breakfast later, Jorge's sitting at the edge of my bed trying to finish his homework. I should be doing mine too, but I wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything with him here. He's to distracting, even when he isn't doing anything.
"I think your phones going off," Jorge laughs when he catches me staring at him and completely zoning everything else out.
"Oh," I look around the bed for my phone before Jorge laughs and tells me it's on the nightstand.
"Hello?" I say when I answer the phone.
"You're still coming tonight, right?" Drew says through the phone. "I've been texting you all day but you haven't answered."
"Sorry, I haven't been on my phone really," I look at Jorge who's biting his lip in concentration as he tries to do the math problem scribbled down on the piece of paper in front of him.
"So, tonight?"
"I don't know, man," I roll my eyes. I need to tell Laney I'm not interested. I don't want to lead her on and hurt her feelings, and I can't hurt Jorge anymore. It's not worth loosing him. Nothing in this world would be worth loosing him.
"You promised you would last night! I'm trying to help you out, Benji," Drew's just trying to be a good friend. I kind of feel bad for lying to him too.
"I know I did, but-"
"Come on! Please? I'm trying to get with Olivia. I've been trying all year and if you're with one of her best friends then I'll get to see her more."
"Okay," I sigh through the phone. Jorge looks up at me with a confused expression. We talked about staying in tonight, earlier today. We both agreed that it's more fun when we're just together. We don't have to hide at my house. "I'll see you later."
I hang up the phone and look at Jorge. "Drew wants me to go tonight."
"I thought we weren't going to tonight," Jorge looks down at his homework with a blank expression.
"I don't want to, but I promised Drew last night I would," I lay down and look at my ceiling.
"Okay," Jorge lays down next to me.
"I need to tell Laney that I'm not interested, too," I turn my head to look at him.
"You're going to tell her that?" Jorge looks at me.
"Yeah, it's not right to pretend to be into someone I'm not," I smile at him. "Besides, I have someone way better."
Jorge blushes, "Should I go too?"
"I'm only going to go for like an hour," I don't want to be there long. "You could always stay here if you don't want to go. It would be nice to come home to you."
"Maybe I'll have dinner made and wait around for you in lingerie," Jorge giggles. "Like a housewife."
"So it's settled," I laugh and pull him into my chest. I reach down and squeeze his ass. "And about that lingerie."
