"According to Greek Mythology,
Humans were originally created with
four arms, four legs and a head with
two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus
split them into two separate beings,
condemning them to spend their lives
in search of their other halves."
-Plato's The Symposium

Song: Eruption by Van Halen
***********************************
He hit the punching bag again and again. There was great force behind each punch and kick. Sweat was dripping down from his face. Zeus liked to think of it as a dance. Every move held a purpose and meaning.
"Take it easy."
He was interrupted but didn't look up. Zeus continued to focus on his task at hand. The guitar and drums that sounded through the gym caused him to change his pace. As they got faster, so did he. The music moved him.
"Zeus."
The voice called out again, but how could the king stop? He was in the middle of a battle within his head. He never lost a battle. One hand hit the bag then his foot. It was constant. His heart beat increased. His sweat dripped down his face. His breath was short.
He continued on. Although the person didn't appreciate being ignored they did watch in amazement. People couldn't move the way he moved, only gods could. Watching a god, especially the ruler of the land and skies, never got old.
Boom
Boom
Boom!
The punching bag was ripped from the chain and flew across the room. The song came to a close. The room was still aside from the vibrations of the electric guitar.
"What do you need, Ajax?" The king spoke without looking at his best friend. He started to unravel the gauze that covered his knuckles.
"Everyone wants you to get ready, but they are too scared to tell you." Ajax Williamson, the head of the council and close confidant to the king, said.
"There is no need to rush." Zeus hated the ball. He didn't like inviting everyone into the castle or meeting any of the women. Sure, he wished he found his soulmate, but he had given up on that thought nearly seventy five years ago.
"Come on! I have a good feeling about tonight!" Ajax tried to excite his friend, as he had done the past balls.
"As you have said before." Zeus started to walk out of the gym. He was shirtless and covered in sweat. His tattoos which covered his body glistened.
"Just get ready. Before you know it all of this will be over." Ajax let Zeus walk away.
Zeus started to dress in his suit that was laid out by one of the maids. It was pressed and cleaned just earlier that day. The suit itself was all black aside from the royal purple stripe that went down the leg and lining on the jacket. Gold accents littered the suit; the buttons that went all the way down his jacked and cuff all were gold with intricate lightning bolt designs. The lapels and collar both were embroidered with gold thread and into the design of olive branch leaves. A few metals sat on the breast of his jacket.
