Chapter 4

Echo POV

After the wave we headed back to the capital, the villagers were so kind to us and even gave us 3 passes that allows us to go where ever we want without the need to pay for tolls which would definitely save us money. They also gave us some grimoires to learn new spells. So after making sure everything in the village was ok we headed back to the capital, Kuro was huge now! Two of us could even ride him.

Finally after a few days of training while walking we made it to the capital. I heard the rumors, the heroes were only focused on the main monster while Naofumi was left alone to defend a village, I'm sure the other heroes didn't even care. They only care about the rewards they get. They most certainly get my blood boiling. I also heard that Naofumi was challenged to a duel with the spear jerk to set free a slave Naofumi had but I guess the slave stayed with him which I'm kinda glad, it means he's not completely lost.

After getting Akashi's wagon we all piled in. This was a pretty big wagon. We all left the capital ignoring the knight who told us the king had requested my presence. We rode through the day and stopped when night time came to let Kuro rest for the night.

"I'll keep watch tonight, I got a nice sleep in the wagon earlier." Hana says as I nodded and Kuro curled up to me placing his head on my lap as I caress it until I fell asleep.

"Echo.. Echo.." I steer a bit as someone called my name until I finally opened my eyes to see my whole party just staring at me.

"Hm, good morning." I say placing my hand on what was suppose to be Kuro's head when I felt hair.. wait.

"What the?!" I scream as I look down to see a guy with black hair resting his head on my lap, he was naked!

"Mm, morning Lady Echo." I blink down as he talked, he had red eyes.

"Who are you?" I ask as he smiled.

"I'm Kuro, Lady Echo." Everything was quiet for a few seconds before all hell broke lose and we all started talking not believing it as his wings sprouted.

"There's no way! How did this happen?" I ask getting up as he followed my movement making me blush and look away. He was definitely handsome and very.. naked. Before I knew it he transformed back into his dragon form.

"It seems we'll have to get him some transforming cloth." Ryou says making me look at him.

"Transforming cloth?" I ask as he nodded.

"It's special cloth that don't shred when he transforms into a dragon and will go back to normal when he transforms into a human. We'll need his mana threats to order it though." Mika says as I nodded.

"And where could we order that?" I ask.

"Well I could make the cloth, I'm pretty skilled at that. But we still need his mana thread, we'll have to go to a magic shop and see if they have a special gemstone and spinning wheel to get it." Hana says as I nodded.

"We'll stop on the next near by village to see if they have it." I say as everyone nodded.

"Let's go Kuro." I say as he happily followed after me letting me place the hinges back on him to pull the wagon. Turns out he can talk in this form too, we all made small talk as we rode stopping on the next village giving the pass to them and they let us through.

"I'll go see if any of the shops have what I need if they do I'll look for you." Hana says.

"I'll go with you." Akashi says as she nodded and they both left to see the shops.

"Hm, Ryou could you go to a cloth shop and buy a cloak for him? I don't think anyone would appreciate seeing a naked guy walking around." I say as he chuckles.

"Certainly." He says as I give him the money and he left. We waited for them and surprisingly they all came back together.

"We found a shop." Said Hana and I told Kuro to transform and put the cloak on. When he did I left Subaru, Kaito, Mika, and Ryou in charge of the wagon. I didn't trust Subaru and Kaito alone, who knows what they'd do. We entered the shop and we got Kuro to make his mana threat. That was a bit expensive but I guess it'll be worth it. I looked around in my weapon info to try and know what abilities I have since I have so many of them. I saw one interesting one and summoned it. I had 5 rings each with chains on it wrapping around my wrist. (Pick up top)

"This has to be a new one." I mumble looking at it and honestly I liked it. It looked more like jewelry rather than a weapon and as I read the things it had I liked it even more. It could heal, trap, attack, and even had one where it could pierce the heart to kill my target. It also had a ball that apparently could tell me where something or someone was if I wanted but this ball could have spikes and turn much bigger to attack.

"I'll be using this one soon." I tell myself turning to look at Kuro and giggled.

"I'm tired." He whined as I pet his head.

"We'll go eat after and you can rest alright?" I ask and he nodded giving me a cheeky smile. His eyes are such a contrast from his actions towards me.

"Then I'll keep going!" He says making me chuckle. Soon he finished and we payed for the use of the spinning wheel thing and we left to look for something to eat.

"We should probably head to a place where we could train and level up quickly. Finding more people wouldn't be bad either." I say as we made it to the wagon and started to eat with the others.

"More people?" Asked Kaito and I nodded.

"Three of the heroes are useless and the hero that actually could do something is treated like shit. If I get more people it could also mean I could send some of you to different villages to fight the waves while me and Kuro would go deal with the main monster and the other heroes. That way I wouldn't have to worry as much." I say with a sigh.

"That's actually a good idea. You could sent at least two of us to different places while you deal with the big problem." Ryou says as I nodded.

"We'll be staying here tonight and rest. Kuro's mana is definitely drained and I don't want to push him. We still have some time until the next wave." I say.

"Also it wouldn't be bad to get another dragon or horses with another wagon. That way we can also do tradings and have more stuff to support us, it could also help you guys if we decide to go different places." I say.

"Definitely, but in the future, let's not jump steps just yet." Akashi says as I nodded.

"You're right. Let's start by leveling up for the next wave." I say as they nodded.
