Chapter 2

Kisame chuckled as he looked at the Kyuubi.

“Why do you call them the Zombie Duo, Kisame-sempai?” She asked eagerly.

“Well you see, I call them that because no matter how many times you kill them, they don't die.” The blue man explained.

Yuna frowned a little, glaring at the two men, so they were like her. She looked down at her knees, her ears drooping. “Does that make me a Zombie, too?” She asked innocently, glancing up at her new teammate.

Itachi was one of the only ones in the room that didn't stop everything and look at her. He'd clearly already known about her immortality, after seeing his brother put chidori right through her heart.

Hidan was by the demon's side in an instant. “What the fuck did you just say?!” He demanded, turning her to look at him.

“She's immortal, Hidan.” Itachi answered for her.

The silver haired man smirked darkly. “I'll fucking see about that.” He said, releasing her and stepping back.

Yuna gave him a confused look, wondering what was going on. Hidan drew his scythe and raised it up above his head. “Only with the power of Jashin-sama can you fucking live forever!” He shouted.

“Hidan!” Pain's attempt to stop the man was too late, as he'd already brought his weapon down on the nine tailed beast.

Though, to everyone's surprise, Yuna had caught the triple bladed weapon. The first of the three tips had found itself sheathed in her raised hand, going through to the other side. But the others only struck air, the second just missing her shoulder.

“This Jashin-sama you speak of has no power over this Kyuubi.” She hissed, her voice the coldest any of the other members had ever heard.

Yuna removed the blade from her hand, before getting off the couch. Hidan scowled as she licked at her hand, the wound quickly sealing then vanishing.

She went right up to Pain and bowed her head. “Forgive me Leader-sama. I did not mean to cause a scene. I was only protecting the chair from being destroyed.” The kitsune said.

The leader looked down at her slightly surprised, from what Itachi had told him of the demon's life in the leaf, she had never been this polite.

“With your permission, I would like to return to my room.” She continued. With a nod from the ginger, she left the room.

She 'jumped' to her room, glad she'd remembered to leave a mark on the inside of her door. She smirked ever so slightly, going to her bed.

“What. Was. That.?”

The kitsune's ears perked as she looked back at the door. “Something wrong, Itachi?”

The Uchiha frowned, from where he was in the doorway, his arms crossed over his chest. “What was with the act?” He asked entering her room.

Yuna shrugged. “Living here will be easier if they don't know the real me.” She said, laying down on her comfy mattress.

“What? That you're a thirteen year old Kyuubi who took out almost a squadron of anbu trying to escape her village?” He asked. The demon didn't honor him with a response, acting as though she'd already fallen asleep.

Why did it matter what she'd done before coming to the Akatsuki? Why couldn't she just start over? Have a new, better life. This place was supposed to be her new home, the home she never had in the first place.

But already she could see parts of her past sinking into her present life. Her first day and she'd already found another person who wanted to kill her. Only difference was this enemy was apparently immortal. Yuna grimaced at the thought of having to deal with the man for all eternity.

“There's nothing wrong with being the real you, Yuna.” Itachi said, sitting beside her on the bed. “That's why you're here, where you can be who you are, not hide it.”

Another person who thought she needed constant company had also appeared. It kinda ticked her off. The only person missing from her old team was Naruto. Hidan and Itachi were annoyingly becoming the perfect replacements for Sasuke and Sakura. Just worse.

Sakura.... Yuna's face contorted as she thought of her old friend. She hadn't spoken to nor seen the pinkette since the Preliminaries. The kitsune wondered what she'd been doing the last few months. How was she now? Did she make a new friend to have slumber parties with?

“Itachi, I'd like to be alone right now.” She mumbled, burying her face into her pillow.

Somehow the thought of Sakura having slumber parties without her hurt.
