I ran outside to the courtyard and looked around, no Alex and Blaine in sight. I ran over to the stack of paper airplane. Nothing. As I started looking around the area, the first bell suddenly rang, signaling the second block. I snatched my schedule from my satchel and scanned it over. I have charms next. Oh boy. I need to get there FAST. Class starts in five minutes. I quickly dashed out of the library and down corridors packed with students until I reached a class which I assumed was a charms classroom. I walked inside and many students were already seated. There were rows of benches, each higher than the next with desks in front of the benches. In front of all the benches was a large desk where Professor Stormcraft stood with his back to the benches, doing something at his desk. I climbed up to one of the higher benches and searched the class. Christopher was seated with some of his friends below me and I waved to him. He saw me and waved back then turned back to talk animatedly with his friends. I sat back on the bench and looked at the desk that was in front of me. There was a blank sheet of paper on the desk next to a jar of ink. There was no quill. How are we supposed to write? I thought, staring strangely and the paper. I decided not to do anything about it.

Suddenly, professor Stormcraft turned around and the doors closed with a loud bang. I could feel Professor Stormcraft watching me as everybody jumped around me. Then, he took his eyes off me and turned to the packed seats. A girl was sitting next to me and looked at professor Stormcraft with awe.

"Alright class. Let's make this quick. I know you all want to get straight to the fun part. My name is Professor Stormcraft as some of you know already and I am the headmaster of this school. I am your charms teacher and today, all we're going to do today is to learn where your skills lie. We will be running a few tests and this not graded, I assure you. Now, let's get started. Xavier, care to go first?" Professor Stormcraft said, directing his gaze to Xavier who was sitting in the front row, busy talking to one of his friends, who jumped to attention at the mention of his name. Wait, what?? Xavier is in another one of my classes? You've got to be kidding me.

As Xavier strutted to the front of the class, I sighed, and drummed my fingers on the table. All of a sudden, the ink pot in front of me started to shake. My eyes widened and it immediately stopped. Did I just do that? I immediately snapped back to attention as Professor Stormcraft cleared his throat, his gaze directed at me for a second before turning back to Xavier, "So Xavier, what is your power that you know of?"

"Hypnosis," he answered, watching some of the class gasp, me included. From what I read at the local library back in Borgaldra, hypnosis is a very rare and very dangerous power. It is known to corrupt power. Harold the foul, the worst known case of corruption, had started a giant revolt, hypnotizing thousands of people into barging into the palace and killing Prince Christian and Princess Lianna. After further investigation, the cause of the corruption was identified as his power eating him inside out. Harold was not able to control his power so he hypnotosed himself into doing those horrible things. A giant squawk brought me back to focusing on the class. Professor Stormcraft had a giant bird with snow white feathers on his arm. Xavier had his eyes focused on the bird, mumbling something under his breath. Suddenly, the bird let out a croak and then a squeak, its eyes glazed over. Weird. I glanced at the ink pot again. How did I do that? I started drumming my finger on the desk again but nothing happened so I stopped, getting a few sour looks from the girl sitting next to me. I mumbled a quick "sorry" before focusing on the ink pot again. Maybe my powers only worked once on a thing. It had only worked once on Xavier. Speaking of Xavier, he had now gotten the bird to land on his shoulder and he bowed arrogantly to his audience. Professor Stormcraft did not look pleased. Oh come on! It's not fair! I wish I had cool powers like that. If I did, I wouldn't take it for granted. I would use it for good and not to show off. That would be cool.

I closed my eyes and started imagining myself with amazing powers and suddenly, a strange feeling came over me. It wasn't like the feeling I had had when I had froze Xavier which was hot with anger, this time it was sunny, like falling into a fantasy. I felt my necklace start to glow and I slowly started to fade away from reality. I could faintly sense the people sitting next to me turning and whispering to each other but I could only focus on the warm feeling in my chest. I felt like I was floating away. Then, as clear as day, Xavier's voice rang out through my trance and I gasped, feeling a shocking vibration travel through my body. I could only think of Xavier. His voice filled my head and then I came out of the trance. I shook my head, dazed, and looked around me. Everything seemed to be normal around me. Except for Xavier. He was jumping around the room like a child crying out, "I did it! I did it!" Professor Stormcraft looked at Xavier perplexed.

"What did you do, Xavier?" He asked.

"Look. I made the bird transform." Xavier said, revealing the used-to-be bird that had been with him. Now, resting in his arms, was a golden statue of a bird. It was a lot smaller than the bird itself but the statue had all the details of the real bird.

A gasp rang through the room and Professor Stormcraft looked on in mild shock muttering under his breath. Xavier has two powers?? That has never been heard of before! I can't believe it! I slumped in my chair. Great. Just great. Way to go. Xavier sat back down in his seat and I zoned out as everyone else presented their powers except me. I don't even know why I got into this school, I thought to myself as I left the room with the other students at the end of the class. I don't even have any powers. Well, that I can control at least. Little did I notice that the small ink pot on my desk had turned solid gold. I rushed down the hallway through bunches of busy students to what I had thought was my spirit classroom. Oh, great. Another class to reveal that I have literally no powers whatsoever.

Well, I'll just have to see how it goes.
