' Clay sees the world the way he sees it. Does what he thinks is right. And has trouble seeing it any other way. '

Bailey sat with her head in her hands in the interrogation room of the police station, her throat tight and hands shaking. She'd been arrested the previous night, the cops striding right on into her house before walking her out in handcuffs. She knew they'd found something on her, but what is was she wasn't sure. Jenny had come with her, but she'd asked her not to come in; unsure as to where it was going to go.

'Bailey,' Bill pried; 'Bailey... I need you to tell me what you were doing with a gun.'

She squeezed her eyes shut, the video she'd just watched playing on the back of her eye lids. They'd found the security footage from the Walker household from Spring, the very Spring she'd pointed a gun at Bryce Walker as Justin tried to talk Clay down from shooting the boy.

'It- We went over there to stop Clay... He- He wasn't doing so well, he- he wouldn't have shot Bryce. He would've hurt himself before anything happened,' She stammered.

'Would you have shot Bryce?' The man pressed.

'No... I- He was trying to get closer, if anything, I was protecting him from himself.'

'So, Clay would've shot him?'

'No. No. He would've hurt himself. We- We talked Clay down and we- We left.'

Bill sighed, 'Where'd you get the gun, Bailey?'

'My place... Dad has one. Mum, too, probably.'

'And why did you take it?'

'P- I don't know.'

'You don't know?'

'I,' She paused, looking up at the man; 'I thought someone was after me- Was going to hurt me because of the tapes. I just... I was scared.'

'Would you have shot someone if they came for you?'

'No. No, never. It was just a threatening tool, it wasn't even loaded.'

Mr Standall studied her face as she held his eye, her entire body trembling.

'And that day... Why did you threaten Bryce?' He asked again.

'I was protecting him from himself,' She spoke slowly; 'I was mad, I admit. But, I was more worried about Clay.'

'Mad about what?'

'That was the day Bryce got away with everything he ever did.'

The room fell silent once more, Bailey moving to hold the back of her head; letting out a long sigh.
