I look at my phone. Three missed calls from Emma and a message asking where I've been. I told Emma, after the party I would go back to her house. But now I can't go back. During the party, after that stupid game was finished, Neal and his buddies cornered me.
"Sup lesbo," one of them says, snickering.
I scowled at him. "I have no idea what you mean by that, but get the hell out of my face," I raised my eyebrow at him, trying to belittle him.
It did not phase him. Another ass put his hands on my shoulders and pressed me against the wall. "Stop being such a bitch to him, he asked what's up," Neal stood in the corner smiling at his friends and the harassment.
"Nothing is up, now if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be," I said, trying to get away from the group of horny boys.
I was slammed back against the wall, harder, this time hitting my head. "I don't think we're done here, princess," Neal said as he stepped in my bubble. "You see, we've got a problem here between us." He motions his fingers back and forth.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"You like my Emma. Now I know, you've been friends forever and you'd 'never think such things' but I can see right through you." He leans in so his nose is a centimeter away from mine. "I know that you're nothing but a little whore," he spat in my face.
"I am not a whore! You're the one cheating on your girlfriend!" I shout at him. I turn my vision to Daniel, standing behind Belle who's now approaching us. He heard that.
"What's going on?" he asks, now being right next to Neal. He stands two inches taller than him and looks down upon his tiny muscular figure. "Leave her alone you ass," he says, pulling the guy off of me.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his embrace. "Let's go," he said. We got in his car and headed away from the party. I hadn't even said goodbye to Ruby and Belle. He dropped me off at my house but I sat on my porch instead of going inside.
Looking back I put my head in my lap and begin to wiltter. I went to the party to have a good time. I played one stupid game and after that the whole school now knows me as a whore. All of them except for Emma. A tear slips down my face as I think of her. My phone beeps but this text from Emma means something more than the other ones in this moment.
Em: I want you to know I love you no matter what happened tonight at that stupid party!
I smile. She doesn't even have to be here to make me feel better. She doesn't know what happened. And I don't intend on her finding out.

"Why are you ignoring me?" Her blonde curls bounce as she jumps beside me as I grab my history book out of my locker.
"I'm sorry. Look, I didn't mean to hurt you, Em," I sigh. A cacophony of laughter erupts from a group of boys near a locker at the end of the hall and I can't help but feel like I'm being pressed against the wall once again.
"Hey beautiful," His voice fills my ears and my eyes go wide, knowing exactly who it is. I spin around to find Neal wrapping his arms around Emma's waist. I can feel the bile filling in my throat. It takes every thing I've got to control myself from clocking him right in the nose. He should be ashamed for hurting such an amazing woman, yet, she has no idea what I know.
"Stop it, Regina's here," she smiles as Neal tries to pepper kisses to her neck.
I roll my eyes, "Dear, I've seen worse." I shoot Neal a glare and he straightens his posture and clears his throat.
"So um, Emma, I just got tickets to the Los Angeles Sparks, your favorite, and I was wondering..." he didn't continue his statement because Emma had leapt into his arms and started to squeal in joy.
"Are you kidding? Why would you even ask me? Of course I'll go with you!" She shouts as she begins kissing him. I want to gag. I want to take those tickets and rip them to shreds, just so he can't take her. So he doesn't get to see her smile, the one that reaches her eyes. "Regina?" I hear. I snap my head up and look into her emerald green eyes. "Isn't this amazing? Isn't he the best?" she squeals once again. I don't say anything, I just smile. It's not a smile of joy. It's a smile to show Emma that everything is fine even though it's not. It's fake. A lie. He doesn't love her. He lost that chance when he tried to get in to Tamara's pants last Saturday.
The rest of the day I'm stuck thinking about Emma. When I see Tamara sit in front of me in Algebra it takes everything inside of me not to smack her and call her a dirty whore, like all those boys did to me. Only this time, she would deserve the title.

"How was school, Dear?" My mother asks me while chopping up some peppers.
"It was fine," I state, not looking up from my Biology homework.
"Really? Just fine?" She asks.
I don't respond. Instead I ask her, "Which French microbiologist had pasteurization named after him?"
She leans over the counter and places her index finger under my chin. "Regina?" She asks, "what's wrong my dear?" I finally avert my eyes from the textbook and look into her brown eyes that I inherited. Her face is well aged and the small strands of gray and silver are sprouting from the top of her head. Time hasn't been that cruel to her and for a mother with two daughters she isn't that old.
I can't hold back the tears that slip from my eyes. My lip begins to quiver and my mother jumps up from her spot, she walks over to me and holds me in her arms. "Shhhh, it's going to be alright my dear," she whispers into my hair.
"No," I stutter. "It won't be alright."
She pulls back my head but never pulls me away from her embrace. "What won't be alright?" I bite my lip so hard I'm surprise I don't draw blood. "Talk to me sweetheart," she murmurs, holding me close to her again."She... She..." I begin, but the tears are coming down so hard and the trembling of my body won't stop.
"Who is she?" My mother asks, her voice never raising from a whisper.
"I love her, momma," I state, still trembling. "But she'll never be mine."
I shut my eyes in defeat. Tears stream down my red cheeks and my mascara is definitely trailing behind them. "My dear, I need to know. Who is she?"
I look into her eyes. They're not filled with anger, nor disappointment. They're filled with love. "Emma," I whisper and she holds me tighter and kisses my head.
"I want you to know that I love you no matter what. Okay?"
I nod in response. She holds me for a while longer until I can't hold my eyes open anymore. As I sleep, I smile. My mother was there for me. She wasn't afraid or hurt. She didn't think I didn't know what I wanted. She just knew that I was still me. No matter what happened. I was loved.
