I lay on my bed, dragging my fingers through my long, thick, hair as a particular Swan floods my mind. A smirk tugs at the corners of my lips and I roll over and squeal into my pillow. There's a faint knock at my door and I lift my head abruptly to see my mother standing in the door.

There's a puzzled look on her face. "Good day?" she asks, smiling slightly and leaning into the door.

I nod unusually fast. "The best," I say with a smile dancing across my lips.

She smiles and continues her way down the spiraling staircase. I watch her leave until I can no longer see her shadow. I hop up from my bed and scramble to my phone on the night stand beside my bed. Without thinking, I message Emma.

Me: Hey

She types back only moments later.

Emma: Hey

I have no idea what to send her. A heart? A kiss emoji? A winky face? I shake my head, Jesus Christ this was a lot easier before we kissed. Before I can type, Emma beats me to it.

Emma: I don't want things to change between us Gina. That kiss was....

I blush.

Me: Definitely one of the best I've ever had...

Emma: Really?!

I chuckle aloud.

Me: Yes Dingus, really

It takes her a moment to respond.

Emma: Me too

I sigh a breath of relief.

Me: So today after class, why did you say you had to meet Neal if you had broken up?

I bite my lip, hoping the question isn't too pressuring.

Emma: I needed to come up with an excuse to leave. I knew that if I confronted you, I wouldn't have been able to hold myself back from giving into my feelings.

Me: What if I wanted you to give into those feelings ?

She doesn't respond right away, causing my heart to flutter. Did I say something wrong?

Emma: I would have been happy to oblige ;)

Is that a wink? Is she winking at me? Is she flirting? I squeal once more before continuing the conversation.

"So, how was your day, my dear?" My father inquires from across the table.

I smile, biting the small bits of chicken around my fork. "It was splendiforous," I say.

My mother snorts and drops her fork. "Splendiforous? Really, Dear?" She asks with a smile on her face.

"Yes Mother, splendiforous," I retort.

"Mhmm....." my mother hums as she picks up another chunk of chicken.

"I'm so confused, what's going on?" My father asks with a puzzled look.

My face heats up and my mother chuckles. "Oh? Regina hasn't told you about her little crush?"

"She's not a crush!" I say with my mouth agape.

"Is she something more, then?" she asks as a bead of sweat forms on my brow.

"Well..." I drag out the word.

"Oh Jesus Christ! Who in God's name are we talking about?" My father shouts.

My mother and I ignore him. "So she is! What happened?" she asks with a smirk forming across her lips.

"Well today in the student lounge-" I begin.

"I remember my days in the student lounge, I believe I was your age when-" she starts but I cut her off.

"I don't need to know. Anyways, we had begun talking and I said that I had missed us, so she leaned forward and kissed me!" I squeal.

"Wait, she kissed you?" My mother raises her eyebrows with a smile on her face.

"Ye-" I begin but my father cuts me off.

"Who the hell are we talking about!" My father bellows, startling my mother and I.

"Henry. Why do you feel you must shout?" My mother asks with a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Daddy, I don't feel that was needed," I smile.

"Who are you talking about, for the third time?" His heated face cools down from his temper tantrum and he takes another bite of his chicken.

"We are talking about Emma, my dear Henry," my mother says, picking her fork up once again.

"I knew you liked Emma," he turns to me.

"But, it had just started this year." My eyebrows raise  as I pick at my food.

"You two were always close. I always suspected something," my father says, leaning into the table.

"Henry!" My mother shouts, stopping her chicken as it almost touches her tongue.

"Oh please! David suspected too!" My mouth falls agape.

"What?" I shriek.

My father nods. "Every day, when you were younger and had to get picked up, David and I would chat," he says, not looking up from his plate.

"Seriously Henry?" my mother asks, sounding disappointed.

"Well what else were we supposed to talk about? The weather?"

"Yes!" My mother and I say in unison. My father chuckles a bit before continuing to talk.

"Oh Cora," he turns his attention to my mother. "You and I both know what happened between you and Mary Margaret. Didn't you two bet on who would-" my mother interrupts him.

"Cut your tongue Henry," she shakily says.

My eyes focus on my mother as I say, "Daddy, please. Continue."

He smiles as I watch my mother squirm unpleasantly in her seat. "Your mother and Mary Margaret made a bet on who would lose their virginity between the two of you," he says, his face showing no emotions.

My mouth drops along with my fork. I turn to my mother. "What?!" I ask, clenching my jaw.

She holds out her hand and finishes chewing her chicken. " Let me explain, Dear," she pleads. My eyes roll to my skull. "When you and Emma had just met, Mary Margaret and I loathed each other. We had come up with many things to go against each other but this one... well you can tell that it was not one of our finest moments," she chuckles.

I scoff, "How the hell did this even come to mind?"

"Regina! Language!" My father says, eyes widening.

"It's not like we meant to! I mean, we probably dropped it forever ago, we just haven't  ever really talked about it since..." she stops. I wait for her to continue but she doesn't.

"Since when, Mother?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.

"Since you two were about eleven," she winces at her own words.

I clear my throat, "If you'll excuse me." I get up from the table and slowly walk to my room, shaking my head.

I open the door and slam it shut once I'm inside. I grab my phone and call my blonde friend. She picks up on the third ring. "Hey," she whispers in a soft voice.

I cut straight to the chase, "Did you know about our mothers betting on our virginity?"

"What?!"
