Beau walked quickly around the hallways, dodging people in her way. The stairway was crowded, too crowded she thought, and she struggled to make her way through all the people that were blocking the entrances.

She stepped to her right to avoid bumping into a girl that was walking past, but she ended up colliding with another girl.

"Ugh, watch where you're going, freak!" She said.

This was the norm. Everyone avoided Beau and she avoided everyone as much as she could. That was an issue, though, given the fact that she was in high school. All the group projects and class presentations and friendly people had fed her up.

Beau had no intention whatsoever to become even acquaintances with anyone at her school, so she kept the charades out of it.

"Hey Beau," a girl called. Beau turned around, immediately regretting it.

Cecelia Manson. The Queen Bee of the school. Everyone loved her.

Beau thought she was actually Satan's spawn.

"Ever heard of a hairbrush?" She said, gesturing to Beau's hair. It was wavy and messy, maybe a little too messy, but it's not like Beau actually cared.

"Go piss up a flagpole," she answered, turning back around and walking away. Cecelia scoffed, while the girl next to her laughed at Beau's comment.

"Don't laugh!" She said, and the girl quieted down.

Beau walked to her last class, pushing past a group of boys that were standing at the doorway. She sat down and a few minutes later, the whole class was seated.

Beau was able to do what she wanted to. She blended in. She did not stand out from a crowd at all. She had average brown hair, brown eyes, and was average height. She was athletic, so she was a little more on the thin side.

Average.

She was practically invisible, and she intended to stay that way.
