Quantum Entanglement

"Quantum entanglement is actually a way of moving the state of one quantum object to another in a distant location without transporting the original object.

Unlike star trek's transporter, no material moves from one place to another. The only thing transferred is the state of a photon. But the real issues with quantum teleportation are that it only works on a single particle, not the vast number of particles needed to move real objects. Therefore, it won't be of use in a real-world application."

He looked at Inaya to confirm that she had understood so far, then continued,

"In the movie, a transporter uses a teleportation device. Transporters work the same for a person or an object, unlike quantum entanglement, which works only on photons or atom at the max. This teleportation device of star trek converts a person or object into an energy pattern, which they call dematerialization. The person or object rematerializes again through a beam of the target."

"Yeah, I saw that in the movie!" she exclaimed.

"Now, what I told you earlier about quantum entanglement is common knowledge among quantum physicists. While watching your tv shows yesterday, another idea struck me. In the show, Narad Muni is able to appear and reappear wherever he wishes simply by chanting Narayan Narayan. Correct?"

"Yes."

"He is definitely not recreating his matter elsewhere, but he's physically sending his matter or atoms to the target location?"

"I think I follow, yes. Go on."

"So that got me thinking, he is able to teleport from one place on earth to another as well. Is it the same as teleportation? He seems to be able to reach any place by expressing his mere thoughts. Is it an external power that grants him the ability to do so? The movement is something like movement at the speed of thought.

But that's not all. He is also able to travel to another plane, god's abode."

"Yes, I never thought of that."

"This combines two very popular aspects of quantum physics, not completely of course, but somewhat. There is a many-worlds-theory that was propounded by Hugh Everett. This theory says that there are multiple worlds and universes parallel to our own, superimposed on top of the other. We, humans, are hampered by our perception, which is that we can observe of perceiving only the world or reality that we are in."

Inaya held up a hand, "You lost me."

"Okay, imagine Narad Muni disappearing to swarglok or heaven. Now, it might be a place, or it might a plane of existence. If it is a place, then it can be physically identified on a map somewhere. But, if it's on a plane, then it could be right there, and he is in fact, not travelling through distance, but simply through space."

"I am afraid they are not applying any technology to the rational world, through a logical extension of the mind. Doesn't this theory repudiate your entire research?"

This gave Jack a pause, but he caught his wind again.

"Yes, unfortunately, it does. And as a quantum theory scientist, I repudiate mythology, but this seems to be more.

It doesn't explain how Micius was successful though. But I need to look at it from all possible angles. Maybe I had been going about it all wrong, and that's why my photons kept disintegrating. There is no way to verify this unless a being from another world appears in from of me and informs me that there are many worlds other than earth."

Inaya started laughing, "That would be simply too amazing to watch."

Jack grinned back at her.

"But Jack, these are just myths, or highly dramatized stories at best, designed to spread the message of the Vedas and Bhagwad Gita, etc. It doesn't make sense to look for scientific clues in them," she said.

"I thought so too, but look what I've been reading up on," Jack said, turning the screen of his computer towards her. There were seven or eight open tabs with similar headlines.

"Technology and Ramayan?" she read out aloud.

"Go ahead, just read," Jack implored.

To pacify him, she started reading.
