I got to his house, running inside. His moms on the couch crying, and her husband is holding her tightly. "What's going on?.." I ask with uncertainty and confusion. Maybe looks up, and starts to cry harder. "Thank god you're alright!" She doesn't look very excited, she looks depressed. "Where's Hunter?" She looks down at her feet, then she looks back up. "Honey..... He's gone."
What did she mean?

Then it hit me.
"How..?" She has tears rolling down his face again. "He couldn't find you. He thought you were dead. He did the saddest crime." He killed himself. Because of me..... Why? Why him?

This hurts. I don't want to believe it. I ran up to his room to find him not there. I look around the room for some kind of evidence he was there. He can't be gone. I can't lose him. I see on the top of his dresser is a note with a picture of us and a box on it. It's addressed to me.

If you are alive and read this I will be very pleased. I can't risk losing you, there's so much to love. You have a bright smile, and a strong personality. I miss you everyday. I figured out who it was, I'm going to save you. If I don't make it, well, at least with this gift you will know how much I cared. If I do survive, maybe I'll put it on you. One day if we get married I can tell our kids about our brave adventure. Madison, I love you forever. One day if I don't survive, I'll see you again. You need to move on though and live your life to the fullest.

I turned to see his mom. "He told me to give you that. I didn't know you were coming, I would have gave it to you immediately. Maybe we can cry together." I couldn't hold it in. I started crying like a baby who got her bottle taken away. She wrapped her arms around me, and kissed my head. "Why!? Why!?" I sobbed.
