Nico looked at the smirking boy with surprise. Her face turned into an embarrassed one.
"I wasn't jealous at all. I was just worried about Ma- n-nevermind," she stopped herself. She ushered Haru out of the kitchen and tried to finish the meal. He left, unlocking the door, with a smile on his face.
"Nico, is it almost done?" Maki appeared in the doorway. She looked back and closed the door. "You know, I really want to announce something. When it's dinner time, sit next to me, alright?" She was blushing and was looking away.
"Whatever you say, idiot," Nico muttered the last part out and smiled. Maki walked up to her and gave her a hug.
"I love you, so much." She kissed Nico and put her head on her shoulder.
"Maki?" Nico tried to look at her face but Maki held her close. "Let me see you."
"No, don't look at my face. I'm pretty sure it's bright red right now." They stayed like that until someone called Maki over. "I have to go but remember, at dinner."
"Got it," Nico nodded. "Oh, dinner's done. Call everyone to the table."
~~~
Everyone sat around the table and looked at all the food on the table.
"Wow, you made this Nico," Honoka gasped in surprise. "It looks really good."
"Of course it's going to be good, I made it after all." She smiled proudly.
"Dig in everyone," Maki looked at all the faces around the table. She may not have shown it but she was extremely nervous.
Okay, you can do this, she calmed herself. She almost grabbed Nico's hand but she knew she couldn't just yet. She stood up.
"Excuse me, everyone," she got everyone's attention and nervously looked at the curious faces peering back at her. "I have an announcement to make. I just wanted to say that there is someone special in my life now and I wouldn't have thought that we would end up together." The whole table grew quiet. Everyone whispered among themselves and looked around.
"Who is this special person, my dear Maki?" Haru said, in order to keep this going. After all, the drama was what was needed.
"Nico, stand up," Maki whispered. Nico stood up and looked at Maki confused. "I'm dating the world's number one idol, the cutest person ever, a big tsundere."
Like you're not, everyone else thought.
Maki kneeled down on one knee and faced Nico. She bowed her head.
"I am dating this amazing, beautiful girl next to me. Yazawa Nico, please treat me well in the future." Maki looked up hoping to see Nico happy. Instead, she saw that Nico looked mad.
"Come here Maki," she dragged the red-headed girl out of the dining room. "What are you thinking?" Nico punched her shoulder, although it didn't hurt her much.
"I thought you would be happy," Maki cried out. "What's wrong?" Nico stopped and put her head on Maki's chest.
"It did make me happy." Maki saw that Nico's ears were red. "It's embarrassing for you to do that though. You did it in front of our friends and my mom." She started punching Maki again.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry, stop the punching." Nico kept punching her arm. Maki grabbed her face and kissed her. She broke the kiss and looked at Nico. "Stop punching me."
"Fine," Nico pouted. Maki sighed.
"Want to go back out?" Maki offered. Nico stayed silent then shook her head.
"Not with you," Nico said turning to leave. "Oh, and I'm staying with Honoka tonight. You can room with someone else." Nico left the shocked Maki behind.
"Nico, is it true?" She was greeted with seven eager faces when she walked through the door.
"How long have you two been dating?" Kotori asked.
"Well, for a while, that's for sure."
"Have you done anything... shameless?" Umi asked all suspicious.
"W-what!? N-no we-"
"Have you guys gone on a date, nya?" Rin cocked her head.
"Well, yes and no bu-"
"Is that why you haven't been seeing us lately?" Honoka frowned.
"Ah, n-no." Nico avoided eye contact.
"If you don't tell the truth, you know what happens." Nozomi readied her hands. "Do I really need to?"
"N-no I'm telling the truth." Nico waved her hand.
"You're no fun Nicocchi," Nozomi sighed.
"So have you guys really not done anything?" Eli asked. "I'm sure Maki might've forced you into something."
"Maki isn't like that." Hanayo piped up.
"Well, sometimes she tends to think of other things." Eli looked away.
"Maki does look at Nico a lot when we practice." Kotori thought about it.
"Uh, everyone," Honoka tried to get their attention.
"I'm sure that Maki hasn't done that ever. She loves Nico a lot."
"And that's all the more reason for something to happen."
"Everyone, I think you should-"
"No, I don't think Maki's like that!" Umi yelled.
"But she thinks of Nico like that. I'm sure that they've already done such things!" Eli argued.
"Everyone!" Honoka yelled. The two arguing parties stopped and looked at her. "Nico's gone. Maki isn't anywhere either."
"Oh, they did leave. Where do you think they went? Wait, their parents are gone too." Eli crossed her arms and thought for a minute. "Everyone fan out. This is now a search party."
"Can I be a part of your drama?" Haru stood up. He had an excited look on his face. "Please."
"I guess," they all sighed. "Maybe he knows where they would go, he was Maki's childhood friend after all."
"I was her childhood friend," he started, "but I don't know where she would take her. She reserved those special spots for the girl that she loves?"
"You four," Eli pointed to Haru, Honoka, Nozomi, and Umi, "you'll go look for their parents. "The rest of us will look for the couple."
"Go!"
