Maki's Accidental Addition

Chapter 16: Positive

Nico groaned and headed to the bathroom clutching her stomach. She quickly headed in, closing the door, and kneeled in front of the toilet. She threw up the food she had just eaten and groaned. There was a light knock on the door.

"Nico?" Maki called from outside the bathroom. She opened the door and hurried to Nico's side. "Woah, are you alright?"

"Does it look like I'm alright?" Nico groaned. Maki rubbed her back, clearly not knowing what to do.

"What do you need?" Maki waited for her girlfriend's answer. Nico was silent for a minute.

"Just get me some water." Maki nodded and left the bathroom. Nico took out her phone and dialed Nozomi's number.

"Yes?" Nozomi's voice sounded through the phone.

"Nozomi?"

"What happened Nicocchi?"

"I think I'm pregnant." Nico's voice was tired and strained. There was a gasp at the other end of the phone.

"Well, I can't say I wasn't expecting it. Don't tell anyone else but I'm also pregnant," Nozomi sighed.

"Really? I'm surprised that Eli was able to get you pregnant. She freaks out too much." Nico groaned and clutched her stomach again. She dropped the phone and leaned back over the toilet, releasing the putrid acid in her stomach.

"You okay Nicocchi?" Nozomi asked over the phone. She waited a couple of minutes before an answer came through.

"Hey Nozomi," the voice said. They had a hint of sadness in their voice.

"Maki? What happened to Nicocchi?"

"She's not feeling good. I'm going to get her cleaned up and put her back to bed. I don't think we'll be able to go to school tomorrow if she's still feeling like this."

"I understand I'll let the others know about this. Do you know what's wrong with her?" Nozomi waited for Maki's reply.

"No, I don't. I just hope that she'll be okay." Nozomi let out a sigh of relief.

"Well, you can go to school and I'll take care of Nico." Nozomi already knew what Maki was going to say.

"But-"

"But I have school too, yes I know, but I want to be there for Nicocchi."

"I know but . . . I need to be there for her," Maki clutched the phone tightly. "I want to help her."

"Maki, Nicocchi was right, you are pretty stupid," Nozomi said straight.

"Huh!"

"She wants you to help her but not if it affects you badly. She'd want you to go to school." Nozomi hoped this persuaded Maki.

"I guess. Whatever makes Nico happy. Please make sure she's well," Maki said before hanging up.

"Well, I can't wait till Elicchi hears about this," Nozomi said dialing her lover's number.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Maki asked Nico.

"Yes, just go. Nozomi is going to be here in a little bit so stop worrying." Nico pushed Maki out of the house.

"Jeez, what's up with her?"

"Nicocchi? I'm here and I brought my Elicchi with me," Nozomi said after knocking on the door. After a couple of seconds, Nico opened the door. "You don't look that good."

"I feel just as bad." Nico sat on the couch.

"So tell us what happened?" Eli asked Nico. Nico sighed and put her face in her hands.

"When I first started feeling sick, Maki and I were at my place just watching a movie. I felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom. You can guess what happened next." Nico had her eyes glued to the floor.

"Shall we take a test?" Nozomi asked holding up a small box. Nico looked up and took the box in her hand. "Go ahead, we'll be waiting."

"You are both idiots," Nico said. She got up and went to the bathroom.

"Do you think she's having a girl or a boy?"

"I don't think it matters as long as we know that she is pregnant."

"Well, what would you want our child to be?" Eli shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

"I don't think it matters. I just am glad that I'm having a child with you." Eli tried to choose her words carefully.

"Aww, that's so sweet, my Elicchi," Nozomi said cuddling Eli.

"I'm done." Nico came out of the restroom. "It's positive." Nico buried her face in her hands. "What do I tell Maki?"

"Just tell her that she got you pregnant. She'll love you no matter what." Nico looked at Nozomi doubtful. "She'll freak out in the beginning but then she'll want to raise that kid with you."

"I hope you're right. Wait, what time is it?" Nico looked at the clock. "When it's almost time for practice, do you think I could tell her then?"

"Yeah, that might be a good idea." Nozomi smiled at her small friend.

"In front of everybody? That'll make Maki freak out even more. Shouldn't they just tell each other?"

"Maki won't freak out that bad, I'm sure of it. She should be mature enough."

"I shouldn't tell her," Nico butted in.

"She'll notice eventually. I'm sorry Nico but this is a topic that will have to come up," Eli said seriously. "We'll be there to back you up if you need it."

"Yes, we will," Nozomi said after. "Well, get ready Niccochi. We have to get to school."

"Why did I even become friends with you two in the first place?" Nico laughed playfully. After a while, they left Nico's house and went on their way to Otonokizaka.
