Maki's Accidental Addition

Chapter 10: True Faces

"So, is that little Maki's girlfriend?" Haru teased.

"Sh-Shut up," she yelled at him. They barely entered the cafe and he was already bombarding her with questions.

"I remember when you had a crush on a girl just like her, wait a minute." He gasped, "Is that her?" His smile got big and he laughed. "Who knew that awkward, tsundere Maki would get a girlfriend this soon." He was a nice, bubbly person in front of others but with her, he was annoying.

"Stop it. Yes, alright, she's my girlfriend but you can't tell anyone." Maki couldn't help but get a little mad. "You know what that means, yes?" She shot him a little glare.

"Of course, of course." He put up his hands defensively. "I wouldn't dream of taking your little Nico. Besides, I don't need to."

"That's what I thought," she said as she went to sip her drink. It was a tomato drink and it was actually pretty good.

"You've had sex, yes?" Haru popped out. Maki choked on her drink and started coughing. "Actually, you guys did it last night, huh?" He tapped the side of his head and smiled.

"W-What are you talking about? We didn't-"

"Ah, so you actually did," he stopped her. "I went for a little guess but I guess I'm right. You did always stutter when you were trying to hide something." She sighed. There was nothing she could hide from this guy.

"Do you need anything?" She asked, twirling her hair.

"Actually, my dad wanted to talk about business. He wants to merge the two hospitals together." Haru made a little demonstration with his hands and gave her a genuinely happy smile.

"That... actually sounds good." She gave him a happy smile. "My mom is going to love this."

"Well, there is also another thing I'd like to ask," he said rubbing the back of his neck. "I think you already know what it is."

She sighed, "I'll let you meet the μ members." He went and grabbed her hands.

"You're the best childhood friend that I've ever had." She looked away from his bright eyes.

They finished their food and headed out. Maki had decided to call the rest of the gang over for a visit. They all agreed and said that they'd meet up at the beach house. Haru and Maki quickly went over to the beach house and tried to make everything neat.

Nico and Maki were cleaning the rooms and they got to that one room. They both then remembered.

"I forgot to tell you but Haru said that he wanted to meet the members of μ. Him and his gi- ahh," Maki yelled out as she fell. She looked and saw Nico had tackled her. She mumbled something out.

"What was that Nico?" She asked. Nico got up and looked away from her. Maki thought she could see a hint of anger in her eyes.

"Nothing," she yelled and left the room. Maki just stayed on the floor shocked.

Maki opened the door and was greeted with seven cheerful faces.

"We all brought snacks," all of them yelled in unison. She smiled at them and welcomed them inside.

"Wow, it's so big," Honoka gasped in amazement. Everyone agreed with her.

"It's not as big as her normal house, ah, I mean mansion," Nico came out and said.

"Nicocchi? What are you doing here?" Nozomi asked confused. She looked at Maki then back to Nico and gave a smirk. "Ah, I guess my cards were right about this." Nico sighed and went into the kitchen.

"Hehe, yeah," Eli laughed awkwardly. Maki knew she was going to scold her for not hiding it better.

"Anyways, let's get this party started, nya!" Rin yelled out. Maki was about to agree when she saw a familiar gray-haired person on the top of the stairs.

"Ah wait," she stopped them. They stopped, confused but mostly curious. "I have someone who wants to meet you." She looked up at Haru and gestured him to come down.

"Woah, who's that Maki," Kotori asked. Maki looked at her and saw that she and Umi were holding hands.

"He's my childhood friend, Haru. He's really nice and pretty cool." Not long after she said that he was cool, Haru tripped on his shoelaces and fell down the last two steps.

"Are you okay," Umi was the first to get to him. Everyone then surrounded Haru. "Maki do something."

"Maki do something, you're the doctor," Eli yelled at me.

"Maki I think you should do something," Nozomi yelled after Eli.

"Do you think some food would help?" Honoka asked still fixated on food.

"Honoka," Kotori chuckled awkwardly.

"Maki help!" Hanayo yelled at her.

"Maki, nya!" Rin meowed out in surprise at everybody's sudden yelling.

"Why is everyone calling out to me!?" Maki yelled out.

"Hahaha," everyone heard. They turned to see who was laughing and saw Haru. He picked himself up and stopped laughing. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt."

"See, he's fine. He would fall down these stairs all the time and still be okay." Maki looked at him and he leaned against her. She rolled my eyes and pushed him off.

"Maki, you jinxed me. Let me support my weight on you. It's the least you could do since I fell off your stairs." He gave her a smirk and she complied.

"Fine, I couldn't turn down a childhood friend." Before he could lean on Maki Kotori grabbed her.

"Can we talk Maki?"

"Uh yeah, sure," she said confused. She walked with her until they were out of earshot. "What is it?"

"I thought you liked Nico. If she likes you don't you think that she'd be jealous."

"Wait, does everyone know that I like Nico?" Maki asked. Kotori nodded and her face turned red. "How?"

"Well, you both were really obvious about liking each other- oh," Kotori caught her mistake. "Don't tell Nico that I told her that you like her." It was her turn to blush out of embarrassment.

"Uh, it's fine. I'm going to announce something about that anyway."

"You're going to confess!?" Kotori said a bit too loud. The others looked over in curiosity. Maki shut her mouth and smiled at the group.

"Kotori, calm down. I never said that." She sighed. "Let's go back and carry on."
