There was an uproar outside, people screamed "Watch out!" and "Fire!" Jolly's room was shaking all around. There was a loud banging on the door and tons of explosions in the background. Jolly covered himself in his soft brown fur blanket then he heard his neighbor yell "A dragon!" Jolly jumped out of his bed and looked through his window which just happened to be right above the bed. He looked and saw nothing, then stared into the abyss of his large empty room so eventually he ran out the room, to the living room and out the door (his house was just of one floor).

He hit who presumed to be knocking on his door and ran out, then he looked around him. Of course, it was fireworks and people cheering on the green patches in the ground. Jolly looked around some more to see if there was a dragon but then was immediately hit with disappointment as it was only a fake, four people were inside of a silly red suit, running around the town (Ryder town).

He looked down and walked back home, "Ouch, uhm hey good sir!" it was the mailman, "Was it J-jelly?" Jolly sighed as he walked by him into his house, then he slammed the door. He walked past the living room (it was right beside his door), past his kitchen (it was a large kitchen if you can ever imagine one) and into his bedroom on the left. He sat at the edge of his bed and thought to himself.

People were too happy in Ryder Town, nothing ever happens. The most interesting thing that has ever happened was when Forebeard hit his head on a sign and lost his memory. People never bothered to get out of the village as it was much too dangerous for the simple folk, but it was Jolly's dream to finally get out and leave his noisy neighbors. This was Ryder town; it was a normal town as he was a normal man.

Since I've already introduced the town, I'll go ahead and tell you about Jolly Koller, he had lost everything as a child to a dragon, he was sure he couldn't ever be normal, then he was raised by his aunt and uncle from Ryder Town. Despite all the riches he got from his parents' will, uncle Tolfer pushed him to work hard so he wasn't like the others, as much as he didn't like it, it helped. He wasn't born here though, he was born in the lands of the moon but he essentially lived here a big chunk of his life, so Ryder Town was his home for all he knew.

Jolly looked up and saw his large squared bookshelf filled with Tales and Legends (his room was only filled with books, he adored them), "Dragon in the Mountain", "Attack of Fish-men", "Elementals at Heart" with plenty more fascinating tales. Everyone thought he was crazy for believing in them, but he thought they were crazy for not believing, as it was still a hate relationship to him. There was a lighter knock on the door, then came another.

"What do these rascals even want with me anyways, didn't I specifically tell them to always leave it in front of the door." Jolly angrily mumbled to himself as he quickly got the door. "What? What is it?" Jolly asked in an angry tone. It was the mailman from earlier still standing there with his little gray cap, he looked about a few years younger than Jolly. "Jelly, I really need you to sign this form. It's something urgent, it will probably be worth a smile or two." the mailman said with gratitude. Jolly smiled at him, for the first time in so long he smiled, then he heard something terrible in the distance, "Jolly! Jolly dear! I have presents for you!" a large woman in her forties yelled out, it was his aunt Kindy. He immediately slammed his door, then he heard an ear-splitting shriek coming from his neighbor Teddy. After this he quickly rushed into his kitchen. "For way too long I've dealt with this, that's it! I'm leaving to the city of light." (a city all the way east). He grabbed his backpack and tons of food; he was ready to leave everything behind.

He went back into his room and looked at the wonderful tales one last time, then he went into his living room and sat on his wooden chair in the corner for a bit, "Well, it's safe to say I will not miss this place." Jolly quickly got up and grabbed the rest he needed (including his red crystal which will be important later on). By the end of this, Jolly's bag was packed and he was ready to leave the front door. He looked back for a second but shook his head, he then attempted to open his wooden front door. It wasn't budging, he tried and tried but it was stuck. He got furious and walked over to the back door, he opened it and hit the mailman again. "Why are you still here!" Jolly raised his voice at the mailman. "To be fair sir," the mailman shoved an envelope to Jolly's face, "I really want to keep my job, so you must take this." Jolly's face turned red as a tomato for then he snatched the envelope from the mailman's hands, "Fine! I'll let you have i-" Jolly mistakenly dropped the letter as he was interrupted by a thunderous horn, "The dragon parade is almost over everybody! So we must end it with a song!" a small man on the green hill in front of them yelled out. That was Jerry, he runs this lovely town and keeps it all moving. Jolly rolled his eyes then tightened his bag, so he moved on furthermore forgetting about the letter.

He walked past a small lake, then a round tree-house, then a wonderful large garden (this was where all the kids came to play). Finally, for what seemed like a few hours, he finally reached the main gates. The gates surrounded the entire town, it wasn't like it was impossible to get past it, it was quite the opposite (like I said before, people just didn't want to leave the cheerful town). "The gates are closed today, go home kid." one of the guards stood in front of him threateningly. This infuriated Jolly, it was as if this town didn't want him to leave, "How about you help guide me towards my destination." Jolly said passive aggressively.

"Why you-" the guard was immediately interrupted by a rather bold man from the North you can tell he was just a visitor by his unusual clothing, "Calm down now, he's one of mine." the young man said with a smile. "Ki-I mean sorry, I got postponed." a large man in fierce silver armor followed up. He seemed to be the bodyguard of the bold man, "No worries," he smiled another smile, "no worries at all Bill." Jolly already didn't like them, but he had planned to leave so he'd stay with them for a little while (and he didn't want to be lost on the way).

The guard gave them all a confused look, "Eh, alright then. Open the gates!" on the little tower above, a guard started to give the wheel little turns until it eventually opened for the adventurers. The bold man and his guard looked at each other as Jolly went forward, it was his moment and no one was gonna take it from him, "Wait! Wait!" a yell can be heard from not far behind, the adventurers ignored it. The gate started to close right behind them, they were at the edge of a little hill sloping downwards. Jolly looked around him and saw several trees and a huge lake to his right. He also smiled, but soon realized he wasn't completely out just yet, then came a rustling noise from behind them, they immediately looked back and saw the mailman sliding his way under the closing gate getting closer to them. They all attempted to run away but they all tripped, then came tumbling down the little hill.

They had all landed-on top of each other. Jolly had just decided he had to get away from them or the trip will be a disaster, "Well, on the bright side, we're officially out of Ryder Town." the bold man stated. "We can finally commence this horrid adventure." then said his guard. They all got up and dusted themselves off.

"What? What adventure?" the mailman was completely puzzled by this.

"Since when were you guys joining me?" Jolly was also confused.

"Just now. Don't worry, it won't be all the way." the bold man winked.

"Woah woah, I'm just here to deliver a letter, here you go Jelly." the mailman held both his hands up.

"If you can make it to Stone Valley with us then I'll finally take your stupid letter." Jolly proceeded to walk into the forest. The mailman gazed at Jolly with shock from behind as the others followed him. The mailman sat down for a bit and thought deeply about it, "I'm so going to regret this." the mailman got up and there were no signs of them, he shrieked and quickly jogged after them. Thus, this marked the start of their great adventure.
