It had been several days since Greon's death. The adventurers have finally entered the green forest, its trees stand tall and ecstatic. Did I already tell you it was green? Well, it was very green, almost blinding to the naked eye.

"How splendid! The way back is now guarded by a gray giant." Chirpy complained.

"Just be happy we're going to a better place in the meanwhile." Jolly said.

"What's that over there?" Chirpy pointed at the gray smoke reaching for the sky completely ignoring Jolly's comment.

"I don't know, maybe a village?" Jolly seemed to still have his hopes up for the adventure despite what had happened in Stone Valley.

"Let's go see, maybe if we're in luck they'll have food supplies we desperately need, because yum, food." Chirpy jumped on ahead.

Bill grunted, then followed with the still unconscious Kelv. They went on till the next dawn, they found a little village in the forest. There were little wooden houses everywhere (with a bunch of tree-houses above them). They walked around the village and saw that it was deserted. Jolly began to have his suspicions already, "Why would they just pack without taking anything with them?" he thought, whilst picking up a long stick.

The village seemed to be filled with joy yet it was so cruel and empty, so they quickly left and continued to find where the light gray smoke was coming from. They were all exhausted and took camp for the night.

"In about a week, we will also start worrying about food shortage and when that happens, I'm running home, which, by the way, was supposed to be a few days ago back when we reached Stone Valley." Chirpy whined yet again.

"Yeah, well let's just say it's a bit delayed now, considering what had happened back with the giants. Also, did you forget about that giant still possibly waiting to snatch you the second you return?" Jolly informed.

"I swear one day, I'm going to kick you both down a long flight of stairs leading towards the ends of the world." Bill smacked both of them. They both scratched their heads, then heard shuffling in the woods, Jolly wondered if it was the same shuffling from earlier on. He quietly crouched his way over to the direction where the sound was coming from, it looked like it came from a large green bush from behind.

Jolly looked at it for a couple of seconds, then poked whatever was in there with his stick, then he heard a tiny growl coming from the bushes. A little white wolf jumped out from the bush and attacked him with its enormous claws, he used the stick to threaten it.

"Back away you dog!" he yelled out, then Chirpy joined in with a large frying pan from Jolly's bag. He dropped it then started laughing out loud, Jolly turned around and saw a little girl with straight black hair and dirty clothes standing where the wolf stood on its four paws growling at him, Chirpy went towards the little girl then gave her a little pat on her head. "You're scared of a little lost girl?" Chirpy laughed another cheerful laugh, "It's okay little one, he won't hurt you.''

Jolly was completely dumbfounded, he had a little scratch mark on his arm, there was something up with the girl. The girl gave him a guilty look, "No, she just gave me a little jump, that's all." he pulled down his sleeve and pretended it hadn't happened.

They gave the girl food, Jolly had realized the pack was growing, he was beginning to feel homesick. The smoke they saw earlier got closer, they realized it was on a tall hill of green. It was largest hill they've seen. The little girl ran towards the hill as fast as lightning.

"She's an odd one." Chirpy said as she climbed up the hill.

"She reminds me of me back when I was also a little one, always curious. Until..the incident." Jolly said under his breath.
