I jump the stairs and land heavily, already drawing my gun that I keep concealed. Mike runs upstairs and comes back holding a few weapons. Thomas staggers in to the house, covered in blood. Zac runs upstairs to wake up Eva. I get ready. "They're chasing me" Thomas gasps. "So you can talk eh? Coz you have a lot of explaining to do" I say harshly. I step outside and jump onto the bin. I propel myself off that and onto the roof. Zac follows suit, having woken up Eva and run through some defensive plans with Mike. Mike runs out with some heavy equipment. I use my power to bring all of the stuff up to the roof. Mike jumps up onto the roof to set it up. Zac uses a pair of binoculars to scan the area. Sure enough, horde upon horde of aliens March towards the house. Texts all of the people inside and warns them. They shut and lock the windows and doors inside the house. I look at the situation through the scope of my sniper rifle. Mike is holding a Bazooka and is attaching a scope to it. Zac is planning some battle strategies. "We need to take the fight out to them. Lloyd texts me.
Lloyd: can I help in anyway?
Me:can you drive?
Lloyd: yeah...
Me:we need you to drive a car into the alien hordes with us in it
Lloyd:BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU GUYS!?
Me:We'll be fine, just do it
Lloyd:ok fine
I hear the rev of the car engine and the roller door opening. I squeeze a shot off at an alien's head and its a direct hit. One of the hordes goes into panic and scatters. "There's our cue!" I tell and vault off the roof. I Cath the others with my power and place them in the car. I jump into the front passenger's seat. "I have all of the sentry turrets online!" Mike yells, staring at a laptop. "Lloyd its up to you to make sure the sentries are working" Mike yells over the sound of the engine. He shows Lloyd a few buttons and diagrams. "Your good to go!". "Three! Two! One! Go!" And with that Mike me and Zac jump out of the car. Lloyd drives away at breakneck speed, trying to run over aliens. The next few minutes flow in and out of slow motion. The chitter of machine gun fire becomes a soft whup, and body parts fly left and right. I grab my pistols out of their holders, and backflip. I send mental waves into the ground and aliens go flying over my friend's heads. The sentry gun is shooting at the aliens one by one, taking them down slowly but effectively. BLAM! An alien falls to the ground, green blood splattering it's head and the ground around it. "Send me flying upwards!" Mike yells, pulling out a bazooka. I send him flying upwards and a rocket flies down upon the aliens. I catch mike and get back to the fight. The rocket explodes and shrapnel buries itself in my arm. I don't notice because I'm too busy sending broken down cars into aliens. I back away from the fight and call Lloyd. " can you fire a sniper rifle?". "Yeah, I got training from Mike...". "Cool, we need you". And with that I ended the call.
Lloyd eventually got up on the roof and started to set up the sniper rifle. Zac, Mike and I were still engaged In the fight. I heard the familiar chitter of an alien talking. I look around. A group of aliens are heading to a house across the street. "There's someone in there!" I yell to Zac and Mike. We all sprint through the horde and come out the other side. The aliens at the house are preparing to blow the door away. Zac uses a sniper rifle to shoot a couple of aliens that are close to the door. "Mike and Zac! Stay here and protect home! I'll find the person inside the house. Zac throws me an AK-47 and some ammo. "Come back alive" he says to me. I nod my head and turn around. My legs pump as I sprint to the house. SMASH! I vault through a window and roll on the other side. A small kid and two adults are huddled in the corner. "Hey guys. I'm Leo. I'm here to save you" I say. "Let me grab some of our belongings first". The women says. "Be quick. There is a squad of aliens trying to bash your door down" I say bluntly. I study the man. He is around my height with long black hair. His fringe covers most of his face, but from what I can see, he has blue eyes. He looks straight into my eyes and says "if you hurt my family, I swear I will destroy everything you love". I'm taken a bit aback by his sudden anger, but I reply with confidence. I will do everything in my power to protect you and your family. Trust me, I'm a friend. The small kid, who I have now noticed is a boy, looks up at me. He has the same long dark hair as his father. "My name is Jeremy" he says quickly. The man has softened up a bit from before and introduces himself as Finn. "I'm five" Jeremy says. "Nice to meet you Jeremy and Finn" I say. The women comes back into the room with a suitcase with a few things in it. "Ready to go?" I ask them. "Yeah" they all say. I call Zac and tell him to meet us at the house. Zac calls Lloyd and asks him to bring the car. "We will be transporting you by armoured car. You will be perfectly safe" I say to the family. When the car arrives, they get in and lock up the doors. I jump onto the car and hang on. Zac and Mike are flanking the car to make sure that aliens don't jump onto it. Mike stops and launches a rocket at a group of aliens. The area goes up in a huge cloud of fire. I laugh and shake my head. I can't believe they used flour on a battle field. We drive smoothly to our house and file inside. Zac and Mike look for any surviving aliens outside while I walk inside with the small family. Once inside, I introduce everyone to Finn, Jeremy and the women who had told me her name was Ruby. Jeremy saw Lucy and frowned. Lucy stared back at him with confusion. We explained to the kids about other kids. (A/N wow, that was descriptive) and they went off to play with some toys that Jeremy had brought with him. I showed Ruby and Finn to their room and they thanked me dearly. Mia explained everything that had happened to the couple and thankfully they understood. Peter and Charlotte had supposedly slept through the entire battle. I was a bit surprised by that. I went off to interrogate Thomas. Where had he been for the last five years? Why had he left us? Those are the questions that I would have asked him. That's if he was alive.
Sorry that I didn't do an authors note last chapter. I wanted to let it sink in that Thomas was back. Yes I just killed Thomas. I didn't like him. But that's not important. He wasn't actually part of the last 20. He had somehow slipped into the apocalypse. I could bring him back to life if you guys wanted me to. We thought that he was dead last time.
