I woke to find Lloyd rocking back and forth in the corner, muttering. "Lloyd? What's wrong bro?" I ask. "I-I'm scared of p-planes" he stutters and rolls over. I think over in my head what to do about this situation. I notice that he has fallen asleep. Better for him to stay asleep than deal with the fear of being awake. Eva stirs beside me and begins to wake up gently. "Hi Leo" she says while rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. I begin to reply but a huge jolt sends me spiralling across the floor. The plane had shuddered violently. Zac came to our door fully armoured and ready for battle. He frowned at me, wondering why I was still in bed. "We got put on high-alert 20 seconds ago! Why are you not armoured and ready to defend the plane?" He asks with slight annoyance. Eva whispers something in my ear and I wave Zac out of the room and close the door. By the time I am done, Eva is armoured in a suit much like the one from the game. She notices me frowning. "These are from Josh" she says, holding up mine as well. The suit floats in the air and opens itself up. I step into it and it closes itself in. I feel power surge through my body and two Handguns appear in my hands, fully loaded. My phone beeps, a message from Lloyd.
Lloyd: Mia is taking care of all the kids while we fight. Don't worry, she has taken certain...precautions...to ensure the safety of your children.
Me: ok?
Lloyd: I'm just saying that you can go out to combat without leaving Eva behind
Me: cool, Thx
I look at Eva and find her with a huge assault rifle and some other guns strapped to her suit. My eyes go wide and she giggles. "You'd be surprised at my skills in combat". "Ok?". And with that she strolls out of the room and finds a guard to tell her where to go. I run behind her and give the guard a knowing look when I see the look of shock behind his eyes when he sees how many guns Eva has. I grab a couple of weapons and a knife belt from the armoury we pass. We walk into a large room with a huge meeting table. Im introduced to a man by the name of Commander Jones. He is apparently the boss of this expedition. "We have been looking for the last 20 for a long time. I space expedition to the moon found a trace of a substance that could only be gunpowder. Through heaps of research, we found that you guys were on a new planet that we had not seen before. It was closer to earth than the moon but we couldn't see it from the ground on earth. When we arrived at the planet, we found an exact replica of earth. It was obvious that many battles had been going on and evidence of human activity was clear. We traced it you're house and found you. Earth sent a fleet of new spaceships to aid in the rescue. We encountered aliens. It was brutal, a slaughter house. We lost too many good men that day. But I'm determined to strike back! We'll take out every last one of these beast!" Commander Jones shouted with ferocious intensity. My friends were decked out with gear to the max. The katana girl had two swords strapped to her back, smoke grenades, a knife belt, two pistols, night vision goggles and a combat suit. Zac was the only person that wasn't fully decked with weapons and ammo. He only had his combat suit and night vision goggles. Every one else was dressed like Eva. The commander showed us a diagram of the plane. "Enemies have breached our security here, here and here" he said, pointing to three spots. "We need to take them out and make our way to their ships that have docked with this plane. Once inside the ships, wreak havoc and destroy as much as possible". Another diagram appeared. It was of the alien ship that had docked with the plane. "Make your way to the engine room and blow it up". And with that he picked up a huge rifle and yelled at some soldiers. My group huddled around me and looked at me expectantly. I found myself explaining a plan that had a very big success chance. We were going to set up some sentry turrets in the dock entrances, cover the area in smoke so that the aliens couldn't destroy the turret, and kill off all the aliens. While that was happening, Josh, Eva, Zac and I were going to enter the alien ship from the outside. It was going to be risky, but the aliens wouldn't expect it. I left Mike in charge and ran off with my group. The sound of gunfire erupted through the ship suddenly. The first sentry turret was up! Josh kicked a door open and walked inside. Zac began to hack his way into some security systems so that we could get out of a hatch in the ceiling. I kissed my wife for a minute and told her that everything would be ok. Her breathing slowed and her muscles seem to release a lot of tension. Zac pumped his fist in the air and nodded to Josh. Josh pushed a ladder up to the hatch in the ceiling and climbed it. The hatch opened with a hiss and wind tore through the hole. I struggled to stand still as I waited my turn to climb up and onto the ship. Josh hit a button on our suits as we came up and my feet instantly got heavier. "That will stop you from blowing away!" Josh shouted over the wind. The alien ships were locked in combat with the human fleet of planes. So far, the aliens were winning. That was about to change. Josh hit another button on his arm, and our suits whirred to life. I tested out a jump and ended up flying a hundred metres into the air. Eva ran in the direction of the alien ship that was docked to the plane, and leaped. Her legs flailed in the air as she flew towards the target. Her landing ended in a heavy roll, but luckily she wasn't hurt. Zac was next. His hair whipped back as the wind tore at it, and he was constantly wiping it out of his eyes. THUD! His landing could be heard from where I was standing. Josh and I jumped at the same time and we both prepared for impact. Time slowed dramatically as the leap began to gain speed. A large boom made my head snap sideways and a small alien jet type thing whizzed past me. More were coming up fast and they were all going to hit me. Josh unclipped his assault rifle from his back and started shooting at the alien jets. An explosion next to me sent me about two metres off course. I was going to miss my target. I began to panic and my limbs flailed in the air. Josh body slammed into me and put me back on course straight before impact. Fire rained down on us and rubble collapsed all around us. I crawled to where Eva was taking cover and shielded her with my body. The fire stopped raining down and the pieces of smashed alien jet started small fires on the top of the ship. I got off Eva and saw a hatch about ten metres away. Josh and I sprinted for it with Zac and Eva close behind. A grenade was thrown at the hatch and we dived to the ground. The explosion blew the hatch clean off and aliens stared at us in shock. Zac dropped down first and went about slaughtering aliens. Josh joined the fight after telling Eva and I to head for the engine room. I checked my grenade stock and found that some had fallen out in my leap. Darn. Eva blasted a hole through a door and found the engine room. This is too easy. Thomas appeared in front of me, katanas drawn. His first lunge was easily dodged, his second only just. Eva kicked Thomas's hand and he let go of one of his swords. I kicked his legs out from under him while picking up the katana. Aliens flooded into the room quickly surrounding us. He sound of metal on metal rung through the air. The katana girl stood in the door way with dead aliens littered around her. She raised her sword and charged. Thomas got up and swung wildly at me. I blocked and counter- attacked with a slice to the knee. Blood sprayed all over me and Thomas inhaled deeply with pain. His leg buckled beneath him and he fell over sideways, just missing a strike from the girl. She stabbed her sword into Thomas's chest. Her sword clanged off something strong. A Kevlar vest. Thomas didn't wait for the girl to come back to her senses. His sword swung through the air and collided with her waist. Blood splattered everywhere as he finished the cut and the topper half of the girl's body fell backwards. My eyes went wide and my breathing intensified. With newly renewed determination I swung my sword at Thomas. He blocked it with ease and kicked at me with his uninjured leg. My ankle rolled and I fell over on top of him. A sword pierced the flesh of my leg and came out the other end. I screamed as Thomas widened the hole and eventually cut my entire leg off. I was pushed off of Thomas violently and my pain increased. My vision began to blur and go black. The last thing I saw was a man in a combat suit, shooting a gun and throwing grenades. That's when I heard a voice that I needed to live for. Eva. "Leo! Stay with me!" Eva screamed as my eyes closed. "I love you Eva" we're the last words I said before I blacked out.
Sup guys! The book is almost over! The last chapter will be the next chapter! Yay! I will finally finish this story! It has been a joy to write a story that people actually enjoy. I thank you for your feedback and support for me and my story. It's a lot of fun to write stories, really helps with creativity! So once again. Thx for reading.
