Kurt was sitting with the others, in reality knowing that Rachel was talking. A lot. And he should probably pay attention. But he couldn't really. Not when all he could think about was the night before.

Kurt was lying in bed, half asleep when his phone lit up.

-Never thought you'd write to me - it's a while since I gave you my number
~Sebastian

Kurt should've known that texting Sebastian would lead to him responding. Perhaps it was therefore He was still awake, waiting.

-i guess so. You're not Going to text hi, at least?
~Kurt

-you want me to?
~Sebastian

-it's common manners, smythe.
~Kurt

- it's also common manners to call people by their names and not their surnames, princess.
~Sebastian

- Rude
~Kurt

-What? Have you met me?
~Sebastian

-princess, of course, I was crowned queen but you're belittling my status.
~Kurt

-who crowned you queen?
~Sebastian

- about a dozen people at McKinley back in high school. Prom night.
~Kurt.

-I'm sorry.
~Sebastian

-No you're not. You're probably laughing your head off so bad, that everyone can see your meerkat smile.
~Kurt

-your insults are getting worse, Kurt, and honestly; I am sorry.
~Sebastian.

They hadn't really texted more. But what terrified Kurt was that they were texting. They were just coffee friends - that was all they'd been so far, at least. People who drank coffee together, and spoke. Nothing more. But now they were texting too; apparently. And that brought Sebastian into Kurts daily life, his thoughts. More than he'd been before.
And wasn't that a bad thing?
Kurt tried to remember all the times Sebastian had been cruel to him, or his friends. It wasn't hard to build up a long list, and should a few weeks of sharing thoughts over coffee really excuse that behaviour?

Kurt sighed, trying to listen to what Rachel was saying to him, but all he could think about was how he'd get to complain to Sebastian about how annoying Rachel's voice sounded - how annoying it was that she thought this her glee club more than his, even though they were in this together.

-Hey
~Sebastian

Kurt got a start as his phone vibrated, lighting up and showing Sebastian's text. Kurt couldn't help but read it, wanting, needing, to answer it immediately.

- Hi. are we meeting this afternoon?
~Kurt

-Nah, i Have a hot date.
~Sebastian.

Kurt couldn't explain why he felt like he'd been stabbed in the stomach when he read that message.

He hated Sebastian Smythe.
Why did it matter to him if he had a date? Poor guy, who'd end up heartbroken at the end of the night.

Why did he care? Why did Kurt Hummel, care if Sebastian Smythe had a date, and they therefore couldn't meet. Better for all.

-okay, then. Hope you have fun with him.
~Kurt

-So, What time Can i pick you up?
~Sebastian

Kurt nearly fell of his chair, and wore a facial expression that must have been comical, judging by Rachel's comments.

-Me?
~Kurt

-Kurt, do you honestly think our coffee outings the past couple weeks weren't dates?
~Sebastian
