I am Drake "Drago" Ward of the House of Ward in England...about five hundred years ago.
I crossed the seas to the Americas for a better "life" three hundred years ago.
Today, I run a successful business with my partner, Dr. Darius Chiron. Instead of...
I awakened in an all white room. I couldn't get up. I looked down at my feet. I was in a cotton white gown, and My hands and feet were restrained.
"Look who's awake!"
I looked to see young human girl smiling. "I'm Kat." She patted my hand. "You're nice. I'm going to get Darius." She scampered out.
I closed my eyes. Where was I? I had no idea where I was. Were Shanti and the kids okay? How long had I been out? Where was that horrible man who shot me?
Suddenly I felt like I was being watched. I looked to the corner room to see that terrible man sitting and waiting for me. I watched him warily. I had to think of a way out of...well, wherever I was, but I had to think.
"Let's get it straight right now." He said, leaning back and crossing his ankles. "You are underground, many levels underground. The light you see in that window is artificial. There are guards posted outside this door with tranq darts. Even if you get out of here you will be in the wilderness, and there isn't help for miles--"
"And what do you have if I get loose?" I asked him as I began unbuckling the restraints with my mind.
"I will go after your children."
"I don't have children."

He shook his head, and pulled out my keychain. "When I first touched this little piece of memorabilia, I kept getting mixed messages..." He Then cracked it slightly, and pulled out the pictures in between the ones that showed. He went to my bed. "These are your children...in the way that counts." He tapped his chest, locking eyes with me. "They made it to Canada, but I can still reach them if I really, really want to. So you be a good girl, and their lives will be spared."
I was quiet. Was he bluffing?
"What is your name?"
"Tigris."
He chuckled, "Uh-uh." He pulled waved my keychain in the air, and I tensed. He caressed it between his thumb and index finger. "Your name is Charlotte. Charlotte Edwards-Scott." He gave a small smile.
"So you say."
"So the marriage certificate says," he said. I tried not to show any reaction. "I saw it in your past." He paused. "Your husband was in the military, was he?" When I didn't answer, he chuckled again.
My heart sank. He had the gift of psychometry, as I did. It must have shown on my face because his expression became smug.
"Just letting you know, I am calling you Charlotte," he informed. "Tigris indeed!" His eyes widened with shock as my keychain flew to my hands. Then I took his one glove, and he became infuriated. "What is it with you people and gloves?!"
I grasped it and I saw that Shanti knocked his body around and threw him in the river. "Ha!" But then I sensed something else. He had locked eyes with hers before she did, and his breath caught. Her eyes were large and expressive as he offered his hand. From what I could see she was locked in this gaze, too. His eyes wandered downward, noting the swell of her breasts under her half zipped hoodie, the quick rise and fall of her chest, and then down to hips that flared in leggings. And then I felt....rage, not hers...his, after he sputtered back to the surface of the water from being thrown. My eyes rose just in time to see him come at me.
