Talk about arriving in style. I was ecstatic to fly from Seattle to Scottsdale, but Drake insisted on landing in Vegas and driving to the event. At first, I was against it, until he showed me the Ferraris we would be driving in that had tints that blocked out 99.99% of UV rays. He wasn't happy when Shanti insisted on driving part of the way, but I wasn't surprised. She looked like it was her birthday when we picked these beauties up, quelling her complaints on why we weren't coming in via helicopter like she heard many did. I didn't have to share the wheel with Charlotte; she was content to sleep mostly. We arrived at sunset.

We parked in the shade of the mansion.

"Drake?" his voice came from my car com system

"Drake?" his voice came from my car com system.

"Yeah."

"Now would be good." He clicked off.

Charlotte looked at me. "What?"

I handed her a box. "Because you mean everything, so it means keeping you safe."

"Oh, my God!" she squealed

"Oh, my God!" she squealed. She put it on, gave me a hug and a kiss. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome, babe, just don't take it off till we leave here." I slipped mine on, but it didn't glow.

Just then Shanti jumped out of the car, holding out her hand. Hers was gold.

They began girl talking and squealing, talking at the same time as they huddled over their newest treasures through the window.

"Why does yours glow?" Shanti frowned. "Mine doesn't do that."

"But yours is gold," Charlotte said. "I have a feeling that has more to do with his."

Just then, Drake slowly got out of his car, bearing the same ring that Shanti did. Drake said we were coming in as a family, so we all had rings which looked like his crest. He was a patriarch, so his would be gold. Shanti was his mate, so was hers. Charlotte and I were like his children. Technically we were. I was adopted, Charlotte fed on him to feed our child. We were just as good, I guess.

"It's sunset." Charlotte's eyes were wide. "Can we go see it?"

I got out of the car, and helped Charlotte out. "I don't see why not." I offered my arm. "Come on."
