Y/N POV
"Please Jis, please!" I pleaded as I tried to drag my Best Friend out of her seat, who gripped tightly onto her chair and refused to move. She shook her head.

"Why," I whined as I pouted.

"You've seen her so many times, besides, you're in the same class as her! And all she sings are covers." Jisoo exasperated, throwing her arms up to emphasise her point.

"But she covers different songs each time," I tried to reason, tugging onto the sleeve of her shirt as I continue to whine.

"Jisoo, please, go with me." I pouted, giving her the best puppy eyes I could to convince her to tag along with me to watch Chaeyoung's performance at the school hall the following day. Jisoo looked at me, before she huffed in frustration. Finally, she let out a sigh before agreeing.

I cheered in triumph, thanking Jisoo over and over again. The corners of her lips twitch in vain attempt to refrain from smiling. "Let's go now! Hurry!" I grabbed her wrist, dragging her out of her chair. Impatiently, I continued to pull her along with me to where Rosé would be performing, the student plaza. It had a small stage and it was mainly used for mini performances, although most of it was Rosé's.

We managed to make it in the nick of time. Students were already settled on the ground, talking and laughing as they waited for Rosé to walk on stage. Some even had large expensive cameras on their laps. Yes, Rosé does have a fanbase in our school. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford a camera to get good and clear shots, because I don't have money.

The student plaza erupted into cheers and applause and immediately I whipped my head towards the stage. Rosé walked up on stage with her guitar slung across her shoulders. There was a smile plastered onto her face as she placed her microphone and plugged in the sound cable for her guitar. "Thank you all for coming down to support me today, I really appreciate it." She grinned, fingers positioned on the neck of her guitar, ready to play.

Jisoo POV
The hall quieten down once Rosé started to sing while strumming on her guitar. "You and I together it just feels so right." She sang to "you and I" by Park Bom. I glanced at Y/N. Her eyes glued at the singer, mouth slightly parted as she immersed herself in the music. Why wouldn't you look at me that way? I sang along softly, those words had hit too close to home.

After two more songs, Rosé's performance ended. Students started to leave the student plaza, chattering merrily as they strolled out. "Do you have anything planned today?" She asked, offering her hand to help me up on my feet, which I gladly accepted. Distracted by the physical contact and the softness of her hands, I didn't answer her question.

"Jis? Jisoo? Earth to Jisoo?" Y/N asked, waving her palm in front of my face.

"Huh?" I incoherently replied, mentally face palming myself as I cursed silently at my dumb response.

Y/N chuckled softly, before repeating her question. I, however, took a long time to process what she just said as I was yet again distracted by the fact that our hands were still intertwined. It took a moment before sudden realisation hit me. Crap.

I quickly fished my phone out of my pocket, letting go of Y/N's hand unintentionally, regretting almost immediately. 3.00 o'clock. I groaned, Jiwoon is going to murder me. I had completely forgotten that today was my turn to help out at the ice cream store. Jiwoon would be furious as either one of us is not allowed to head out if there's no one to help out at the ice cream store, and he may have plans.

Hearing my frustrated groan, Y/N tilted her head slightly to the side before asking what was wrong. "I forgot that today was my turn to help out at the ice cream store." I sighed, shaking my head slightly.

Y/N mouth formed into an "o" as she nodded. "Let's go then." She said, grabbing my hand.

The sudden contact made me freeze on the spot. My mind went blank before I felt heat creep up to my cheeks. "Go where?" I asked, trying my best to avoid her eyes.

"To the ice cream store."

I looked at her in confusion. "I'm going to help you out, it's my fault that you forgot about it. Besides, that's what best friends do right?" She smiled. I smiled back, a lump formed in my throat as I thought bitterly about what she said. Best friends.

"Let's go then." I walked towards the gates of our school, our hands still held together.
