Rosé POV
I woke up to a metallic taste in my mouth. My jaw felt sore and my throat was still raw from yesterday's practice. I walked into the bathroom and was about to brush my teeth when I noticed that I had blood on my palms. Looking up at the mirror, I realised there was dried blood that trailed down from the corner of my mouth to my chin. I frowned, but pushed all my worries and concerns to the back of my mind. I have a performance today, and the last thing I want is some blood distracting me.

I walked briskly towards the living room. The smell of waffles and maple syrup invaded my nostrils, causing my stomach to growl obnoxiously. "Smells good." I mumbled as I took a seat.

"Before you leave the house, I want you to sing those notes I taught you yesterday." My mother said as she passed me a plate stacked with waffles that was coated with maple syrup. I nodded before quickly digging into the plate of sugary goodness. I chugged down a few glasses of water, my throat was still raw and it was starting to hurt slightly, but I stood in front of my mother, ready to sing the notes.

I tried to reach the first note. A low husk came out instead. My mother frowned at me before asking me to repeat. Finally, after some time, a high note came out. My throat felt like it was on fire and I coughed immediately after. My mother, on the other hand, felt satisfied. She nodded in approval and I hurried out of the house, hoping that I wouldn't be late.

Y/N POV
"Hurry Jis! Hurry!" I said as I dragged Jisoo along to watch Rosé's performance. This time Jisoo made sure that she had nothing planned in the afternoon. Reaching the student plaza, I pulled Jisoo down to sit next to me, still holding her hand. Rosé walked up to stage, her guitar in her hands and she smiled. The student plaza erupted into cheers as she adjusted her microphone and beamed at the sea of humans. But something felt off. Rosé fidgeted nervously before plugging in her guitar.

She strummed the first chord and sang the first line of "Downpour", by ioi. The crowd swayed along to the music, some students turning on the flashlight as they waved it, acting as a lightstick.

Everyone waited in anticipation for Rosé to reach the high note when she neared the end of the song. She reached the high note, her voice cracked and she burst into a fit of coughs. Her face turned red in embarrassment as she continued to choke. She cupped her mouth with both her hands therefore her guitar slipped out of her grip. Thank the gods it was attached to a strap that hung around her neck. Everyone murmured as they slump in disappointment. Cameramen put their camera down as they shake their heads in embarrassment.

I scanned the crowd for Jaeyoung, who was no where to be found. I gently place Jisoo's hand down after realising our hands were still connected. Standing up, I made my way to the stage, ignoring the sea of heads turning and looking at me, and took out a packet of tissue that I carried with me everywhere I went in my pocket, offering a piece to her, which she gratefully accepted. Rubbing her back as she coughed into the tissue, I used my free hand to grab the microphone from the stand. "You guys may go now, instead of just sitting there doing nothing." I said as I dismissed them, annoyed at the fact that they call themselves fans of Rosé when they didn't bother to help Rosé when she needs help.

I helped Rosé down three stage and to her bag. Grabbing a light pink bottle that was placed near her bag, I passed it to her, assuming it was hers. She shoved the tissue into her pocket before taking the bottle from me, smiling gratefully. My heart stopped for a moment as I stared at her. "Thank you." She thanked me, snapping me back to reality. Her voice was hoarse from coughing and she looked down. Her shoulders slumped forward as she looked at the ground.

"Are you alright?" I asked. She nodded before she sniffled. And that was when I realised she was crying.

"No you're not. Here sit down." I told her as I sat down on the ground. She sat beside me, still looking down at the ground, shaking slightly as she tried to hide her tears. "It's okay to cry." I said softly as I passed her the entire packet of tissue that was kept in my pocket.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled as her voice cracked again.

"For what?"

"For disappointing you and the rest."

I chuckled softly before replying. "There's no need to apologise, you did well. What's more important is your health. It doesn't matter if you don't pull off every performance, everyone makes mistakes." I laughed before I continued, "I've probably made more than you."

There was awkward silence before she broke it. "You're Y/N right?"

I was surprised and my heart started to race. She knows me! She remembers my name. "Yep." I nodded, biting the insides of my cheeks to keep myself from smiling.

"Thank you."

I shrugged. "No problem. Where's Jaeyoung?"

Rosé sighed, she looked up and smiled. "He can't attend today's performance. It's alright. I can't always expect him to be present at all my performance." I frown before nodding slowly.

"Want to walk home together?" I smiled.

"I believe your friend is waiting for you." She replied, nodding towards a direction. Looking towards where she was pointing, I realised Jisoo was standing by the side, waiting for me.

"You can walk home with us."

"Okay." She grins.
