Chapter 2

J a d e ' s P O V

"What's up guys! It's Smallzy here and I'm very excited for today videos as we are interviewing the new upcoming Aussie band, Daft Avenue!" He smiled towards the camera.

People around the studio, including our band and Kent, clapped and cheered.

I was smiling so wide, it was starting to hurt my cheeks. "Thanks for having us here, it means a lot!"

Kent just waved us off, "It was our pleasure!"

"So, I decided to kick this interview off by doing a Quickie. Basically I will ask you guys questions and you just have to answer."

"Sounds good!" Maria smiled.

Kent cleared his throat and shifted around in his seat, I would guess he's trying to get into a more comfortable position.

"Ok, Pizza or Burger?"

"Pizza!" We all simultaneously spoke.

We all burst out into a fit of laughs and giggles, including Kent.

"Favourite Musician?"

"Katy Perry." Jenny immediately spoke up, I stifled a giggle. She's obsessed with her.

"Good Charlotte." I said, I loved Good Charlotte. Someone once asked me which of the Madden twins I preferred; Joel or Benji and I literally couldn't pick. "Or All Time Low. They're both amazing."

"Green Day." Chase said.

"Probably Fall Out Boy." Maria said.

We all turned to look at Kayla as she hadn't answered yet, "Me? I really like Ed Sheeran."

"That's a nice range there. What about your favourite ice cream flavours?" Kent read the question off of his sheet of paper.

"Bubblegum!" Kayla spoke.

"Mint chocolate chip." I answered, I love mint chocolate chip. It's the best creation ever.

"Vanilla." Maria said and Jenny agreed with her.

"Coffee flavour." Chase finally answered.

"Finally, single or taken?"

We all looked at each other knowing what to do, we mentally counted down before simultaneously speaking, "Single!" I laughed.

Wow, the interview is only a couple minutes in and already we are so comfortable. To be honest, I thought I was going to be so awkward.

"So," Kent, or 'Smallzy' as his stage name is, started. "We actually have another band here today who is going to perform for us." He smiled.

I tilted my head, "That's awesome, who is it?"

"Well, we can't reveal that yet. However, whilst they get set up backstage, perhaps you guys could perform something for us?"

We all looked at each other. Personally, I didn't mind. In fact; I was stoked to play.

We all nodded in sync and got up from our seats and walked over to the instruments.

Jenny picked up at acoustic guitar sitting in the corner as Maria picked up the bass. Chase sat at the drum kit and I prepared myself to sing.

"Can we sing Hold On Till May?" I asked our band.

They nodded their head rapidly, "I love that song!" Chase yelled.

She sits up high, surrounded by the sun

One million branches and she loves every one

"Mom and dad, did you search for me?

I've been up here so long I'm going crazy!"

And as the sun went down we ended up on the ground

I heard the train shake the windows

You screamed over the sound

And as we own this night

I put your body to the test with mine

This love was out of control

3-2-1 where did it go?

Now don't be crazy

Yes now of course you can stay here.

Been in a touring band for going on ten years.

"Big deal," she said, "I guess you're official."

I only said it 'cause I know what it's like to feel burned out

It gets you down,

And as the sun went down we ended up on the ground

I heard the train shake the windows

You screamed over the sound (over the sound)

And as we own this night

And she said,

Jenny took over singing

And as the sun went down we ended up on the ground

I heard the train shake the windows

And as we own this night

Tell me where did it go?

I smiled as I finished.

Kent looked gobsmacked, "That was amazing." He clapped us.

"Thank you." Maria smiled.

"I think the other band is ready." He stated.

Suddenly, Kent turned towards the camera. "That was an amazing performance from Daft Avenue! Now welcome a very special act, 5 Seconds of Summer!"
