Dick was waiting in the watchtower, tapping his foot nervously. Batman had some mission for him, but he didn't know what. Was he supposed to go with the League? What if he messed up? What if they doing out about his past? Would they hate him?

"Nervous?" Wally whispered. "What is they find out? That I'm not completely human?" Dick grabbed Wally's hand. "That won't happen. And if it does, so what? Only two of them are really human. They'll still adore you. Just like I do." Wally kissed Dick's cheek. "I love you." "I love you too, Dickie."

Dick leaned his head so it rested on Wally's. "You can just say it." "Say what?" "That I'm short." "You're taller than me. Everyone besides my two youngest brother are." "But you're still better than them." "Don't let them hear that. They'll kill you." "I know. But I have to say it sometime, otherwise that beautiful fact will stay hidden."

Dick chuckled. "Sap." "Dork." "Black hole." "Workaholic." "Speedy Gonzales." "Little Birdy." "Baywatch." "Ninja."

"Are you two done?" Jason asked. "Don't complain, little wing. I got names for you too." Jason grumbled and turned around. He acted like he hated Dick calling him little wing, but he honestly loved it. He loved any affecting Dick showed him.

The whole League did. After learning about his past from Batman, without Nightwing's knowledge, they had secretly become protective of the bird. Being kidnapped at the age of nine and abused to the age of sixteen, then being kidnapped two months later couldn't have been easy.

Batman finally walked in, to which Dick raised an eyebrow. What had taken him so long? "Nice of you to join us, bats." Hal joked, voicing Dick's thoughts. "There was a problem with the communication between the watchtower and the cave. I've repaired it. Onto business."

A large screen appeared behind Bruce. "This is Martha Corine. She's a large supporter of the League, and has recently received many death threats for tonight. She has asked for our help. Nightwing. You, Kid Flash, Red Hood and Green Lantern are alpha, and will take the North wing. Superman. You, me, Flash, and Wonder Woman are beta. We have the southeast. Hawkwoman, that leaves you, Martian Manhunter, Red Robin, and Robin to patrol the West."

Wally intertwinned their fingers. "You gonna be ok on alpha?" Dick nodded. "I'll be fine." "Are you sure? I know you're not crazy about new people, and we're the most likely to meet people." "I'll be fine. I've got you, Hood, and Lantern." "I just want to make sure."

Dick smiled. "We've got this, babe. Don't worry." Wally sighed as Dick kissed his cheek. He always worried that if Dick got put on a mission, and got kidnapped, it would drag him back to square one.

"I'm just worried. What happens if we get hurt?" "You mean what happens if I get kidnapped." Wally nodded. "Wally, one of the reasons it shook me up so much was that I was in a safe place. Big walls, gated community, security cameras. I didn't expect it, and I wasn't ready for it when it hit me. That's why it was so hard for me, and why it's been so hard for me to get over."

Dick's smile relaxed Wally. Dick knew what had hurt him. But he was expecting it this time. He was expecting to get caught, and he could handle it this time. He would be fine.

"C'mon, love birds. Hal's gonna leave you two," Jason shouted. Wally sighed and looked at Dick. "Is there a way to shut him up?" "Duck tape." "Good." "Need some?" "Got some?" Dick pulled a roll out. "Let's have some fun."
