More Than Friends

Kara turned around in Lena's tight embrace at her side and studied the brunette's soft sleeping expression before lifting herself up on her elbow to check the time on her alarm clock. 2:48 am. Kara huffed and returned to her usual spot with Lena's face tucked into her neck, the pair were meant to go to the movies later that night as it was their date night, but they sadly still had work during the day, and there was going to be no way Kara was going to work well while she was distracted by her date later with Lena and by the fact that she'd be tired, she had an interview that she had to conduct with Lena herself about owning CatCo. She got a bit giddy just thinking about interviewing Lena, how they used to be even before they started dating, how clueless and oblivious they both were to each other's feelings. Kara couldn't be more glad that she'd married the love of her life and she could make up for all of their lost time being useless lesbians refusing to make the first move.

Kara tried her hardest not to wake Lena, but the brunette stirred soon enough from all of Kara's unintentionally loud sighs, "Are you having trouble sleeping, love?"

Kara nodded gently before looking down and smiling at her, "Yeah, just a little, I'll fall asleep soon enough though, just go back to sleep, you need your rest, Lee."

Lena shook her head, knowing that Kara knew her better than to think she would leave Kara awake alone with just her thoughts while she slept peacefully, yeah, Lena worshiped her time to sleep, but Kara having a healthy sleep schedule was just as important, "If I go to sleep now, you'll stay awake."

"I promise I'll go to sleep right after you, okay?"

Lena sighed softly, knowing that Kara would keep her word, but she still wanted Kara to go back to sleep, "Alright."

"I love you, Lena, get some rest," Kara gently pressed a kiss against Lena's forehead before gently rubbing her back with her finger, coaxing the young Luther to sleep.

"I love you too, ma chère," Lena whispered into Kara's hair.

Kara smiled to herself when she'd managed to get Lena to sleep in only five minutes before closing her eyes and falling asleep herself.
