PIERRE PALMER
"Well that was satisfying." I said while buttoning up my dress shirt, behind me laid Alexis' naked, tired body.
Alexis let out a brief sigh before sitting up right and running her fingers through her hair, a small smile crept onto her face before she ruined it with a loud, obnoxious yawn. Turning up my face, I scoffed.
"What?" she asked.
"Didn't you ever learn to cover your mouth?"
"Oh, please." She rolled her eyes. "In case you forgot; I'm not your proper ass wife."
"Oh, trust me, with that language; I'm aware." I let out a chuckle and rose to my feet to walk over to my dresser where my phone sat.
"You're ridiculous. You know that, right?"
"No, I just like things decent and in order."
"And that right there is a reminder of why I could never see a forever with you."
"... Not what you were saying a few minutes ago."
"Yeah well that ship has sailed." Alexis ran her fingers through her hair, "I got what I needed and the veil before my eyes was removed."
"Are you upset because I told you the truth?"
"Nothing to be upset about." Alexis stood to her feet and began gathering her clothes from the floor. "Once again, I got what I needed." she walked past me then practically strutted over to the bathroom.
Laughing to myself, I opened my screen and began to scroll through the array of messages so I could differentiate which needed my attention most. Once I was done, I hit my mother's contact information and placed it to my ear before walking out onto my balcony.
I made it my duty to call her every day this time, even if it was for a few moments. I knew my mom like the back of my hand and if a couple days went by, without a doubt she'll pull up and stay for as long as she sees fit. Although I love my mother from the bottom of my heart, I love my space much more and the last thing I need is her snooping around her.
"Hey Pierre! I was just thinking about you."
"Oh, really now, as if you didn't know I was about to call you?" I leaned against the balcony and looked at the amazing view of the Hollywood sign before me.
"Today was a bit later than normal, so I wasn't too sure."
"Sorry, I got a bit..." looking over my shoulder I peered into the open bathroom to see Alexis getting into the shower. "tied up."
"As usual. You and Pharrell always got something going on."
"What can I say? You raised us to be go getters and now we're addicted."
"Can't argue with you on that. How's the Queen Priya?"
"She's good, she left a couple hours ago to work on the restaurant."
"Finally." My mother let out a slight laugh, "I've been waiting to see that baby's dream come to life for so long."
"Oh, I know. The time has come though, she's going to focus on that from here on out."
"And who's going to handle the work with the match making business?"
"I know how private you and your brother are with it, to the point where you guys won't even allow me around the office."
"Because mom, we know your intentions are to find a millionaire husband... the moment you let us know that is the moment we knew you'd never be able to touch foot in our office."
