EGYPT CUNNINGHAM
"Thanks for lunch, it was really amazing." Christina smiled as I opened up the door for her to walk on out. "My uncle was right."
We stepped out onto the busy LA streets, with doggy bags in our hand. Normally, I could eat from now until tomorrow, but Christina and I's conversation was so rich to the point where I forgot about the meal all together. Christina ate however, and I was glad that she enjoyed it.
Christina was lovely, very funny and easy-going. One thing I liked was that she actually paid attention, seemed to be captivated when I spoke about my plans for the future and I knew it wasn't a façade because she kept fishing for me. On top of that, encouraging and giving me tips in order to succeed.
Christina was not just easy on the eyes; she was physically very attractive. I enjoyed the way she carried herself and the aura she gave off was indescribable. Just being with her, actually allowed me to forget about what was going on around me, even if it was just for a moment. I needed it.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it." I nudged her softly with my elbow. "So, you've told me about getting your degree in psychology, the fact that you just bought yourself a house; which is a huge milestone, congratulations again."
"Why thank you," she smiled.
"You spoke about your futuristic goals along with the one's you're presently working on, and I must say you seem quite successful for such a young age." I directed her towards the parking lot, "So do tell me, why it is that you're single?"
"I should be asking you that question." She laughed and I joined to, trying my best not to giver her any eye contact. "I guess you could just say that I've seen everything you can name and I'm over it. I'm tired of the trust issues, tired of the inconsistencies, I'm tired of comparing myself to other women." She shrugged.
"Bad past relationship, I'm guessing?"
"No." she shook her head, "bad stories. All my girls go through the same things on repeat and I'm not even trying to go through that kind of mess. I realized that I'm happier alone, I do what I want, when I want. I accomplish much more this way... not to mention that I have my own space!" she grinned, "nothing beats that."
"So, you're telling me... in your entire life, you have never been a relationship?"
"Zero."
"Wow... angel in human form?"
"Oh, I am far from that." she smirked as we got to the car. I opened the door for her to get in, then made my way around to my side of the car.
Starting up the engine, I turned down the radio that was playing CB's new Indigo album. "Why do you say that?" I continued.
"In this day and age... I don't see why I gotta be in a relationship to get everything that a relationship offers." My brows furrowed and once she noticed she started giggling again.
"I'm very much so lost..."
"I know you are, but that's alright. It's better we leave it here, last thing I need is for you to judge me."
"Last thing I would do is that," I held my hands up, "but I will not pressure you. I believe we have said enough. So, either way, I'm good."
"You're too good of a guy." She mumbled, looking into her purse for something.
"What was that?"
"Oh, you heard me?" she looked up with lip gloss in her hand.
"Of course, I heard you," I smirked, you weren't exactly whispering. "Now talk up, what do you mean by that?"
