Jo's POV

This morning I woke up with a pounding headache. I couldn't sleep at all - my mind was to busy annotating Ashton and I's conversation last night.

After Ashton and I were done talking we said goodnight to each other and I headed to my room.

Before I could reach my door I was stopped by a nervous Michael, he asked if I wanted to play League of Legends with him. It sucked because I really wanted to play

But I was exhausted and said no.

I absentmindedly went in to give Michael I hug goodnight and he held me for the longest time. I could feel his face pressed to my neck and his arms pressing me into his chest. Then he just kinda semi skipped down the hallway.

I didn't know whether to be scared or flattered so I stuck with confused.

Now it's morning and I have to go out and face the boys.

Luke seems nice but I'm pretty sure Calum hates me, then there's Ashton and Michael.

Michael is really sweet and welcoming but he's awkward around me and I'm not sure why, and Ashton is just Ashton.

Extremely hot and understanding

But extremely unavailable.

I quickly brushed my teeth and attempted to comb through my hair with my fingers before walking into the kitchen.

What I saw stopped me dead in my tracks.

"Umm guys what's going on here?"

~

The smell of burnt toast was strong in the air. Hotel dishes were piled high by the sink and a shirtless Luke lied sprawled out on the floor.

Calum and Ashton frantically moved around the small space attempting to make breakfast I assumed, while Michael sat back with a smirk and watched.

" oh Hey! Morning Jo" Calum greeted, seemingly in a good mood.

I smiled at his change and sat down next to Michael.

"Hi, sooo just wondering why does the hotel smell like smoke also why is Luke sleeping on the floor"

"Long story no time to tell-"

Ashton quickly answered shoving a piece of toast in my face.

"- here have a marmite toasty"

"Why are we in such a rush?"

I spoke with my mouth full earning a laugh from Michael.

"We have a big show today and have to head to the arena" Calum spoke equally as fast as Ash.

"How does that involve me - I thought I could just have my parents pick me up from hotel"

All three boys looked at me at once.

"No you're coming to the show."

~

"I still don't get it - I mean you could give the ticket to some fan who wasn't able to get one. I don't even know anything about your band!"

I was still trying to get out of going to the concert, but nothing would work. I had tried nearly everything; saying I felt sick, I was meeting people, had to go to the dentist. But no nothing would work.

"Look Jo I already told you, I want you to give our music a chance." Ashton said, while leaning forward from the very back seat of the car.

I was stuck in the middle of Luke who was watching SpongeBob on his laptop and Michael who was listening to music.

"But I don't even know any of your songs."

"Here" Calum turned back from the passenger seat and threw an iPod in my direction. "Playlist 5, tracks 1-13. Our tracklist for tonights show."

I put in the headphones and started the playlist.

"Jo. Jo come on, we're here." Michael whispered before getting out of the car. I stopped the music while listening to a song which was called "End Up Here." So far, though the music wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I couldn't fault it.

I got out of the car as Calum slammed the passenger seat door shut.

Ashton and I started to walk towards the side entrance of the huge arena, while Calum, Luke and Michael trailed behind.

"Wow for the afternoon, it's still god damn cold here." I said, rubbing my hands together.

"Here"

Ashton took of the black leather jacket he had been wearing and placed it over my shoulders.

"I'll warm ya up."

He intertwine his fingers with mine and brought me closer than we were before. His warm embrace felt nice. And protective.

Michael's POV

Even though I begged Cal to let me sit in his seat, I barely even talked to Jo. I just grew awkward around her and I didn't even know why.

I took out my laptop and started it up. I logged it and went into my iTunes. I pressed shuffle. The first song that came o. Was "Somebody To You" by The Vamps and Demi Lovato.

I didn't even like that song and yet I still bought it.

So I turned my laptop off and stared out the window at the clouds.

As we got to the venue, no one had bothered to tell Jo, so I took it as my chance. I could softly hear the echoes of Ashton's End Up Here solo through here head phones and as I softly poked her.

"Jo. Jo come on, we're here." I whispered and I got out of the car, followed by Jo.

She and Ashton started to walk ahead as Calum, Luke and I followed behind.

Not long after, Ashton placed his jacket over Jo's shoulders and started to hold her hand.

I sighed in slight annoyance that my chances were becoming slimmer and slimmer.

"Hey Mike, come on - you'll find another one just like her." Calum tried to convince me but I knew he was just saying that because he didn't really like Jo that much.

"But just look at her. Look at them. They're lovestruck and it's driving me mad."

"Wait, didn't you know, Ashton like blew any chances he had with her last night." Luke joined in the conversation.

"What?"

"Yeah he said that nothing could happen between them because she deserves better or something like that. Anyways, it means you do have a chance with her Mike."

And for the first time today, I smiled. An actually grin. I was finally happy.
