Ice Age: The Meltdown

Chapter 10

The night soon passed them all and the sun was shining above them all with blue skies across.

Diego was the first to wake up from his slumber, letting out a loud yawn, getting up briefly as he stretched his limbs out wide, soon feeling a wet substance at the ends of his front paws.

"Water..?" He lifted them up and stared at them in confusion before it completely dawned on him, "WATER!!"

He pounced away in fear and landed on top of Manny, startling him awake as he jumped up in a frenzy and hit the tree Ellie and the possums were sleeping on, waking them up as they fell off the tree and landed in the water, sending it splashing onto Hazel which jolted her awake entirely as she pounced away, looking around in a frenzy before calming down like the others.

"Crash, I told you not to drink before bed." She hears Eddie as they stood in the water.

"I didn't do this!!" His brother remarks loudly, before letting out a low, "At least not all of it,"

"Ew," Hazel gagged and immediately began shaking her fur to get rid of water, hoping it was just melted ice and not any substance from Crash.

"What's happened?" Ellie questions in confusion as she walks out of the water.

"We've overslept," Manny replies bluntly as he looked down at the river that'd crept up on them, "we need to move."

"What if we're the last creatures?!" Eddie panics briefly before shaking his brother frantically, "We'll have to repopulate the world!!"

"How?" Crash questions as he brother pulls away; "Everyone's either a dude, our sister or..." he turns over to Hazel who eyed them closely.

"O-or someone that we don't wanna repopulate the world with but not because they're bad or anything!!" He finishes awkwardly with a chuckle, fearing what the saber would do if he didn't word his sentence right, who only rolled her eyes with a groan.

"O-Oh Hi!-" They all turned to see Sid stumbling out of the forest as he scratched his neck. "Hi Manny, woow, what a night!"

Hazel just gazed at him curiously as he walked over and continued; "You'll never guess what happened to me!"

"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you were sleepwalking." Diego suggests lowly.

"Oh, no, no, no!" The sloth disregard immediately with a smile; "I was kidnapped by a tribe of mini-sloths!"

"That was going to be my second guess." He sarcastically states, not surprised at all by what he was told.

"and they worship me!!;" Sid continued with a huge smile, "I mean sure, they tossed me into a flaming tar pit, but they worship me!!"

"Sounds nice," Hazel replies sheepishly, not really paying attention to his words since she was trying not to completely gag over what the possums' had said so far.

"Sid, you were dreaming!!" Manny harshly cuts his words before walking away, "Come on, the water's rising faster than we're moving!"

"I'm telling you! I was kidnapped, I was worshipped and they, they- Guys?!"

They all just ignored Sid and continued on their way towards the boat, hoping that the boat hadn't left yet and thus still have time to catch it.
