I'm about to throw myself on my bed when I hear my dad's voice calling my name. Ugh. "Why?" I groan and shake my fists in the air as I reluctantly trudge down the stairs.
I tried everything, honestly.
I woke up super early, on a bloody Saturday morning, to do all my chores, try and finish my Bio project and just when I'm about to take a well deserved nap, that's when my dad decides to start sending me places. Regardless, I plaster a smile onto my face as I approach Edward, who's watching an English Premier League game on TV. This man and soccer.
"You called me Dad?" I ask him. Edward turns to face me while taking out his wallet. "Yes, I need you to run down to the shopping complex and get me today's paper and my watch from the jeweller's, I'm sure it's good as new now," Dad says. Why can't you drive there yourself? "Okay," I tell him simply as I take the cash he's handed me.
I walk back to my room and grab my phone along with my earphones. Just as I'm about to open the front door to leave my mom stops me and tells me to buy a few snacks because the pantry's going empty and my aunt Martha and her husband Kevin are coming over tonight. "Don't groan at me young lady, you're too lazy for your own good," Karen scolds me.
Just great. I really don't want to be forced to sit with them and their obnoxious son who thinks the sun shines out of his ass.
I huff in annoyance and do her bidding regardless. Of course if my dad wasn't born in the stone age, he'd let me take his car but nooooo, I don't have a license thanks to him, so now I have to make an unpleasant twenty minute walk. I plug in my earphones, shove my hands into the pockets of my jacket and listen to some RnB music as I walk down my street.
The mid afternoon sun shines down on me and I eventually take my jacket off and wrap it around my waist. Ten minutes later, I walk into the entrance of the local shopping complex and make my way to the convenience store and later the jewellery shop where my dad had his watch repaired. Today's not a busy day, as the car park isn't full and the area is almost empty.
After getting the errands done, I start making my way back. Just as I'm about to leave the complex, I notice a familiar face walking to his car. Ugh.
Shit, shit, shit sticks!
It's Calum, and I happen to be in close range of his matte black G Wagon. He's wearing a casual get up and also has earphones on. Hopefully, that'll help him not notice me. I seriously can't deal. Plus, I'm crusty as fuck right now, I really was hoping not to see any of the blue bloods from St Peter's.
Curse my luck.
Luckily, he doesn't even seem to notice me as he's busy with what ever on his phone. I quickly seize the moment by pulling down my cap over my eyes and power walking in the opposite direction.
Before I can congratulate myself on successfully curving an unwanted conversation, I hear the loud screech of tires and duck out of the way when an old Toyota car swerves into the complex at high speed. I gasp as I watch a burly looking man step out and attack Calum from behind. Before he can even react or comprehend the situation, he covers Calum's mouth with something that effectively has him out of it in seconds.
Is anyone seeing what I'm seeing?!
It all happens so fast and I see an unconscious Calum being thrown into the boot of the car, before it speeds off in the direction it came from. "Oh my God!" I exclaim in shock. Calum's been kidnapped! My hands shaking widely in fear, I take out my phone and just as I'm about to dial for help, I feel a presence next to me.
"Not today," A raspy voice says in my ear as something is pressed onto my face. On instinct, I thrash around, trying to fight off whoever is attacking me but my assailant is much stronger and the next thing I know, I smell a strong fragrance before every muscle in my body goes numb and every thing goes black.
