"... So what you're basically telling me is you spent DAYS, moving onto WEEKS just to find this game... CLEAN IT, and keep it locked away in a box for all of these years just so you wouldn't lose placing of it?"

Nathan let a sigh escape his lips before nodding, shifting in his seated area on the carpeted floor. "It was supposed to be a graduation present, but I didn't realize I'd left it in here..."
Nathan's gaze lowered to his lap, his thumbs twiddling as if he were embarrassed, "Are you not happy that I found it?"

I opened my mouth to speak only to find myself hesitating fully. I figured it wouldn't be right to always point out the negative in Nathan, especially if he went out of his way to do something like he did at such a young age.

Nathan waited expectantly for my answer as I set the small gaming system off to the side and rendered a genuine expression on my face, "No, that's not what I meant... I appreciate what you've done, Nathan, really."

Instantaneously, Nathan's mood seemed to have lit up completely in acknowledgement to my kind choice of words. Honestly, this was the side of Nathan I liked to see; Serene, gentle and coy.

... I just wish I knew less about what he's done to people. All for me, he likes to say... Sounds kind of ailing in my opinion.

The two of us sat in silence, stillness filling the fairly sized bedroom, occasionally gazing at one another for a split moment. Rather than say anything, Nathan would flush in embarrassment and look away.
I narrowed my eyes in slight annoyance.

Ugh... We've gotta stop doing this...

I decided to be the one to initiate conversation, clearing my throat beforehand, "So, Nathan."

Nathan sat up in more of a formal position, his eyes slightly widening along with his sheepish response. "Y-Yeah (Y/N)?"

I rubbed the back of my neck as my (E/C) eyes scanned my surroundings, "Tell me a bit about yourself. You claim to know just about everything about me, so I figured it'd be fair to ask some things about you. You mind?"

Nathan's cheeks flushed—adorably—in reaction to my question, his fingers getting slightly fidgety again whilst he fiddled with the hem of his shirt.
"I—Myself? ...Well... It's complicated."

"Come on. I already know you've killed people. It's still weird to grasp onto, but I'd actually like to get to know who you really are as a person... Especially if I'm going to be here for awhile." I crossed my arms and politely waited for him to carry on the conversation.

Nathan but his bottom lip and took a deep breath, before opening his mouth to speak.
"... When I was younger I was neglected and abused by the both of my parents. I was never bought clothes that were presentable for school or identical to my size, barely fed... A-and..." his voice drifted off into countless stutters as his hands began to tremble.

Feeling remorseful for the male across from me, I scooted closer to Nathan and held his somewhat chilled hands in mine as an attempt to comfort him, sympathy evident on my face. "I-I'm sorry, you don't have to tell me everything. I didn't think—... I just thought it'd be a good way for me to actually learn about you personally. Are you alright?"

To my surprise, Nathan was hyperventilating just from the very thought of these horrific thoughts I was oblivious of. Eventually, with time his breathing slowed back to it's normal state, his hands tightly clinging to my own as if it were his very lifeline.
