Finally

"dad?" i said quietly but loud enough for him to hear

"hmm" i heard coming from the kitchen

"uh...i...can i still go to the concert?" i stuttered while saying it, his head snapped up and he looked me straight in the eyes, it made me jump a little

"the what?!" he half yelled

" the... uh...concert" i replied

"that we...i brought the ticket for last week" i continued

"No, forget it" he said and put his head back down

"what!" i didnt mean to yell but i did and I wasn't prepared for what happened next, he knocked me clean on the floor

"DONT YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME, YOU'RE NOT GOING AND THATS FINAL!" he screamed in my face

"WHY?!" I screamed back

He didn't even say anything, he had the most horrifying look on as he kicked me repeatedly in the ribs
"DONT EVER FUCKING BACKCHAT YOU HEAR ME?"

I nodded before running upstairs with tears in my eyes and saw that i had a huge red mark across my face, i slid down the side of the bathtub and held my knees to my chest

I don't want this anymore, I don't deserve this, what did I ever do to be treated like a complete and utter piece of shit?

I was snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing, i looked down and my best friend Brooklyn's number appeared, i answered and almost immediatley she responded

"hey you ready for the concert tonight!" she sounded so excited

" I-I cant...go" i said between sniffles

"are you serious?!" she practically yelled

"uh-" i was cut off

"it's pierce the fucking veil! and your gonna let your fucked up dad prevent you from going, c'mon madi! We've been dreaming of this for years, please do this with me, and I know it's so selfish for asking since what might happen when you get back home, but I promise after this I won't let you go back to him!"

she is an amazing friend I promise, it might not sound like it but she is.

she was right, i wasnt gonna let anyone come between the one thing i wanted most even if it was my own fucked up father. i breathed out deep, knowing what could possibly happen.

"i'll sneak out" i said finally

"now thats my best friend! i'll meet you out the front at 8, yeah?" she squeled happily

"yep" i finished and hung up

I'm gonna regret this...

*2 hours later*

i creeped downstairs in ripped black skinny jeans and a pierce the veil tank top

Rick was sleeping on the couch so i took my chance and snuck out the door knowing that when i got home it would be really bad, i quickly jumped into Brooky's car and she sped off.

Brooky knew how to get to the front of any line, so she grabbed my hand tightly and we made our way to the front of the huge line, we were in front row right near the stage.

they all walked out and vic looked my way but then turned his focus to the rest of the crowd

"HOW ARE YOU ALL TONIGHT?" he yelled into the microphone, the whole arena screamed including us and boy it was fucking loud!

they started playing bulletproof love and disasterology, we were all singing the songs loudly, i looked around at all the faces and realised all these people are like my family they all understand and would be here for me, i wanted to stop time and stay in this moment forever.

when 'a match into water' came on i scremed even louder and that got vics attention, he looked over at me for a split second but it was enough for me to get butterflies in my stomach, he kept looking back at me and the thought lingered in the back of my mind that he was judging me and kept looking back to count all my imperfections.

"i kissed the scars on her skin, i still think your beautiful and i dont ever wanna lose my best friend, i scream down god you vulture, bring her back or take me with her!"

*After*

It had all finished and we walked out with huge smiles on our faces

"OMFG! That was the best thing ever!" I was so happy, tonight was amazing!
Tonight was the only night when I felt like nothing in my life was ever wrong, i forgot about all my troubles, I felt special, especially getting to see my lifesavers in the flesh and not just through a screen
"I know!" Brooky replied looking just as happy as I was

i looked around and spotted one of my dads friends, i quickly ducked and Brooky looked at me like 'the fuck are you doing?' i pointed over at him and she ducked too

"shit" she mumbled as we ran over to the nearest car and kneeled beside it. we sat there for a while and then i heard it, his laugh. Brooky heard it too and we looked around and saw they were coming towards the car

"Fuck, what do we do?" i panicked, typical me

"act natural" she quickly said and before i could do anything she pulled me up in plain sight, i could feel myself going red

"whoah" mike exclaimed

Brooky spoke up

"oh, we were hiding and we didnt realise this was your car...wait is this your car?" the whole time she was talking, mike was watching her, he slowly nodded looking her up and down, i looked over at vic who was suprisingly looking at me, i took a deep breath

"madi it's okay just dont stuff up" i said to myself

it was silent for a bit then

"Nah it's all cool, we were just gonna go hang out wanna come?" mike asked while looking over at us

Dani formed and 'O' shape with her mouth before answering "sure" then all eyes were on me, i could feel myself burning up

"uh, me and......." vic looked over at me, breaking the silence

"madi" i responded quietly

"me and madi are gonna go hang" he continued while looking at me then the boys, my head snapped up and i looked him in the eyes, he gave me a quick smile before shifting closer
