VERY IMPORTANT A/N!!: I have been obsessed with Beetlejuice lately. And, I thought," I haven't really mentioned JD in a while...." and I had an evil thought. You'll find it in this chapter😉 Also, if there is a scene change from Illinois to Ohio, it will be like this; ~*insert place*~. Okay, let's go!!
~Westerburg~
JD constantly thought about the girl in blue since they first locked eyes in the cafeteria. She said her name was Veronica, but it might as well have been Fire, considering how hot she was. Her sway away played over and over in his head. Unfortunately, she was in Illinois this week. He swore to himself then and there that no matter who she met in Evanston, she would one day say to him,"Til the sun don't shine, you will still be mine."
He might as well get out of bed. It's not like these 5 days would be any better by him staying in. A/N: This takes place back on Monday when the program started. Jason threw on a grey tank top, and covered it up with his trench coat a few sizes too large. He checked his phone, which blinked back 6:30 in his eyes. Just enough time for a before school slushie run.
As he strode out the stairs and into the living room, he looked at his dad. Passed out on the couch surrounded by beer bottles. Typical. Ever since his mom committed suicide, and he saw a new side of his dad, JD swore he would never turn out like his dad. And he hadn't broken that promise yet, but didn't intend to. Even after 8 years. He sighed and walked out the door to where his motorcycle was waiting. As he sat down, he really felt the extra roominess on the back of the seat today. 'One day' he thought. 'I'll have that Sawyer girl right here behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist like it's the last thing she'll ever do.'
The first half of the day was just like any other. Same nut job teachers. Same useless lessons. Same annoying jocks. Everything fell into its normal routine. Lunch rolled around, like always. Without even bothering to grab a lunch, JD sat down at an empty table with a book. Who needs friends when To Kill A Mockingbird exists? His peace flame flickered out after 5 minutes. A girl slightly on the smaller side approached his table. "Mind if I sit here? You're table is the emptiest one here. And besides, you don't seem bad."
He examined her closely, but not obviously. She had raven hair in a bob-type hairstyle that ended at her neck. Her all black dress paired with an all black choker and black fishnet tights absolutely screamed,"Hey, I'm emo, and probably gonna try to convince you to join a satanic cult!" It could've been worse. With a slight shrug he replied," Be my guest." A grin spread on her face as she plopped down next to him. "What book are you reading? Is it any interesting?" JD realized he wouldn't advance much further in the plot, and decided to put the book down. Besides, at least he wasn't talking to those joke of human beings Kurt Kelly and Ram Sweeney. He replied with his simple smirk," To Kill A Mockingbird. Harper Lee writes in a way to which most can't fathom, but to me, she's just writing what goes on in society. It's plain and simple." The girl sucked up every word he spoke like it was water in a desert she was stuck in for too long.
She picked back up. "Sounds so interesting! I forgot, I haven't given you a proper introduction. The name's Deetz. Lydia Deetz. I'm part of the American exchange program for this week. My family's never ventured out of our little town in Connecticut." JD maintained conversation shockingly. "JD. My pop's is 'Big Bud Dean', he's been all over the country, and me along with him. He went to Connecticut, but that was before he met my mom in Texas." He tried to make it seem like he cared... but no matter how many times his brain tried to make him repeat "Lydia", it kept saying,"Veronica. Veronica. Veronica."
"Right!" Lydia smiled. JD felt slightly uncomfortable. He knew what flirting was, and this was the most obvious form of it. Next step, flattery.
Thank god for the short lunch due to the welcoming ceremony right after. JD took a deep breath as the principal announced everyone to the stage. "Well, I guess it was nice seeing you for now, Lydia." The only thing left behind was his presence where he once stood. Lydia allowed her cheeks to go red, turning around so no one noticed. 'That was quite a guy' she thought. The most peculiar thing about it was why. She had never caught feelings for a guy, or a girl, for that matter. Why now, when she'd only see him for a week, did she have to meet someone who left her knees feeling like jelly, her heart race faster, her stomach gain an inexplicable amount of butterflies? He seemed disinterested in her throughout the whole time. But that didn't change a thing. He wasn't preppy and jolly and annoying like ever other guy in Connecticut. She knew that deep down there, JD was the one for Lydia Deetz. Or soon, 'Lydia Dean.' Now that was a name she could get use to. Even if she wouldn't say it out loud, Lydia was going to stop at nothing to melt into his arms.
A/N: This has been my favorite chapter to write so far. AHHHH!!! A Lydia, JD, and Veronica love triangle has now walked into your lives. Also, I'm curious to see if anyone caught my Waitress reference at the beginning of the book. And, final note I can think of for now- i wrote this and it's going to be published in the same day. Yeehaw. Okay, that's it my lovelies!!! (Also, we're so close to 1k reads, and I can't believe it. Thank you all for everything😭❤️)
