Aaron Samuels took a deep breath. He slipped a folded piece of paper into Cady's locker before scurrying away. Ever since he asked her to borrow an eraser, something about her always stuck with him. Today was the day when he planned to ask her out. While he DID date Regina, he didn't care if they lost their friendship. Cady deserved better than her anyways. When writing the note for her, he wrote one asking her out signed by him.. but that was before he remembered about the exchange program. If she rejected him, there was no way he wanted that carried over there for everyone else to hear about. He then decided to write it anonymously. Worry was filling his brain before his football jock friends showed up, and he was forced to go into a different persona.

Cady made an effort to try to talk to Heather Mcnamara. She felt sick of the other two Heathers, and Veronica made her nervous. She listened to Mcnamara talk about Ohio, asking the occasional question. Despite living in Africa for 12 years, she still felt like she hadn't explored enough. As Cady opened her locker, she saw a folded sheet of lined paper fall out. Heather noticed and immediately shut up. "You should open it!" she chimed. Cady have a shrug. "What have I got to lose?" As she carefully unfolded it, this is what she quietly read aloud.

Cady,
Ever since I first laid eyes on your face, my heart felt a feeling it never had before. You're witty personality and gentle appearance and smile have set my heart aflame. I yearn to hold you dear in my arms, never wanting to let go. I weep at night knowing I cannot fall you mine. You are like the everlasting light in this dark abyss of a world. I adore how you don't just settle for anything. How determined you are to make this world better, and how kind you are to open your arms to not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 exchange students. It takes courage to wake up every day. You walk in here, always acting like it's nothing. And for those reasons, I love you so. As you have for these students, I will carefully watch over you and protect you.

With all my heart,
Lovesick.

"Ooh-la-la!" Mcnamara have a suggestive eyebrow raise. Cady laughed. "Shut up! I don't even know who wrote it!" Mcnamara still smiled. "So?"

Veronica held back Duke's hair as Duke began her daily lunch rendezvous with the toilet. When Veronica first began to see what happened, it crumbled a piece of her insides every time. Now, the saddest part about all of it was how used to it she was. It didn't matter how many times over and over again Duke lost weight. Veronica always thought her shoulders were up high from some slight yearbook stress, but eventually she realized it was due to her sucking in her stomach.

Her mind wandered to JD. She couldn't wait to get back to him. She had hardly even spoke a real word to him, but he meant the world and more to her. She could hardly wait to feel that fluttery feeling again with him. At least her true best friend Cady made her feel like that for now.
