Chapter 4

Maria's POV

Just then the sirens start to go off. "Jack I thought you said it wasn't supposed to be bad?" I said snuggling into him. "Yeah I thought so too but I guess I was wrong." Just then the winds started to sound like a train. "Maria grab Jeremy and everyone get down under some mattress now!" Jack yelled. I grabbed Jeremy who was crying uncontrollably and I hid under some mattress with Jack, Johnson, and Molly.

Just when we finally got comfortable under the mattress the train sounding wind stopped but the sirens still kept going on. "Sh... It's ok little buddy. We're going to be ok." I said to Jeremy, rocking him in my arms. "Guys I think we can stop hiding under the mattresses now." Molly said. Both Jacks popped their heads out to check. "Jack, Johnson, please be careful." Jack gave me a kiss on my forehead and he went out.

About ten minutes later Jack and Johnson came back under the mattress. "It's ok guys, we can come out now." Johnson said to us. Me and Molly crawled out while I was still holding Jeremy. "The storm is still going on but its moving away from us." Jack said while hugging me. "Here, how about you try to calm Jeremy down." I placed a very fussy Jeremy in Jack's arms.

I sat down on the pull out couch under some blankets and watch Jack walk around the room with Jeremy. "I think Jeremy likes my little brother." Molly said sitting down next to me. "Yeah I think so." Jack is going to make a good father to Jeremy one of these days.

Jack's POV

Maria grabbed Jeremy who was crying uncontrollably and I hid under some mattress with Jack, Maria, and Molly.

Just when we finally got comfortable under the mattress the train sounding wind stopped but the sirens still kept going on. "Sh... It's ok little buddy. We're going to be ok." "Jack, Johnson, please be careful." Maria said to us. I gave her a kiss on her forehead and went out.

We came out from under the mattress and looked around. "Looks like the power's out." Jack said. "Come on lets look around upstairs." We walked up the stairs and opened the door. "So far so good." We looked around my house to check for broken glass and other types of damage. I moved the tarp that was blocking one of the doors to the patio and looked outside.

All I could see was dark clouds and some of our outdoor furniture spread around. "Come on Jack lets head back downstairs." Jack said to me. We walked back downstairs and we popped our heads under the mattress. "It's ok guys, we can come out now." Jack said to the girls. Molly came out and Maria came out with Jeremy. "The storm is still going on but its moving away from us." I said while hugging Maria. "Here, how about you try to calm Jeremy down."

Maria placed a very fussy Jeremy in my arms. I was walking around the basement trying to calm Jeremy down I think it was working. I notice Molly and Maria whispering stuff to each other so I just ignored it. "Hey Maria, what time is it?" I asked her while rocking Jeremy. "Um, its midnight Jack. I think we should all get some sleep. We have a lot to clean up."

I sat Jeremy down in his crib and I got on the pull out couch with Maria. Jack got on the huge leather couch in my basement. Molly moved Jeremy's crib closer to Maria and double stacked the mattresses then got under the covers. "Good night everybody." I said then I snuggled into Maria who cuddled into me.

*The Next Morning*

I woke up to a baby crying and a pillow hitting my face. "Jack was that really necessary?" I whispered yelled. And he just flipped me off and tried to go back to sleep. I picked up Jeremy from his crib and walked him around the basement. "Don't you worry little buddy mommy's going to be up soon so you can eat. Yeah I know your hungry." I said to him in a cute baby voice. "Hey Jack, do you have Jeremy?" Maria. I walked back over to the pull out couch where Maria was sitting up.
