Jughead groaned as he pulled himself off of the cold hard ground, having just felt the full force of his fathers rage. He strode into his bedroom, grabbing a fresh pare of clothes before heading into the damp and mouldy bathroom. he leant over the sink, admiring the puffy red mark on his pale face. "Great", he muttered, knowing all to well that an angry bruise wasnt far away. Intending to shower before school, he stripped of his clothes. He looked over his body and was repulsed by what he saw, his slender arms to him appeared bulkey and stout. He wished desperately to make himself smaller, sometimes it was all he could think about. He wished to become so small that he would simple disappear. Coming back to the present he stepped into the shower and watched contentedly as the mirror beside him began to steam up, blissfuly shrouding his reflection from veiw.
Archie was waiting by Jugheads locker, tapping his feet and scanning the hallways. He didnt like how they'd left thing. He wasnt sure if he'd done something wrong, should he apologise? Should he act like nothing had happened, and in all honesty it wouldnt be a lie. Before he had time to ponder the problem further he caught sight of his raven haired freind. His hair was wet but still swept under his beanie with only a few strands hanging losely by the side of his face. He was dressed in all dark colours making his pale skin shine, and the lightness of his green eyes stand out, as well as a vived purple bruise adorning his left cheek. As Jughead aproached he gave a small token of acknowledgment to Archie who stepped aside, leaning on the next locker along. The hallway was quite save for a few younger students hurrying to classes, but neither of the boys possessed any great desire to arive any earlier than absoloutly necessary, especialy not to chemistry.
"For a moment i thought you werent going to make it", Archie saild with a dry laugh in an attemp to break the silence.
"For a moment so did I", Jughead replied with a smirk, calming the atmospere and allowing the red head to relax. Jughead turned to face him, books in hand, dreading the question that was bound to come eventualy. Normaly he was pretty good with coming up with excuses, he was pretty sure that Archie must think that he's just a bit of a klutz, wich was all in all pretty embarrasing. But today his mind had been preocupied and was struggling desperatly, he wished that things would go back to how they were, before his Mum left.
"So what happened to your face, walk into another lamp post?" Archie asked, trying to mask his consern with a joke.
"Something like that", he mumbled with a forced laugh, jesturing with his hands that they should start heading to class, hoping that the subject would be dropped.
"No but seriously", Archie whined childishly. Jughead couldnt help but turn to face him, taking in the utter cuteness infront of him. A small smile escaped from his lips as he returned his eyes to the front, aprehensive the red head might notice the way he was looking at him.
"*Answer me*", he whined again, this time grabbing Jugheads hand and pulling him closser. Jughead was looking Archie straight in his puppy like eyes trying so hard not to let give in to the adorableness.
"I think i'd rather not", Jughead teased with a protentious aire of nobility.
"Asshole", Archie shot back with a goofy grin and a shake of his head.
"You love me really".
"Yeah, i do".
