Chapter 20: The Doctor's Appointment

I woke up in the morning and did my daily routines before heading downstairs with my purse.

Everyone sat in the living room chatting. When I walked in, they paused and looked at me. Connor's eyes were filled with remorse. I smiled slightly at him and nodded my head, signaling that I was ready.

He merely nodded and got up, not before telling everyone goodbye.

We headed outside towards his car and got in. Before he started the car, I placed my hand on his, which was directly on the gear stick. I could feel him tense up beside me.

Slowly, I took my free hand and placed it on his face. He turned to look at me and I leaned. in and kissed him.
It didn't take long for him to respond; He drew me on his lap and we started making out.

After a few minutes we pulled away."I'm sorry, Amanda. I do care about you but we have to consider the baby now. Even if you're not hungry you have to consume something so the baby is healthy when she's born."

I looked at him quizzically "She?"

He smiled"Yeah, she. Just like how you have mother's instinct, I have father's instinct, if it's a thing."

I chuckled." Well have to find out the gender when the baby is born. I want to be surprised. "

He pouted his plump pink lips. "No fair! Now I'll have to be anxious for six months."

I smiled and got off of his lap "You'll just have to wait cause even if we wanted the gender we'd have to wait for about another month or two."

We arrived at the hospital 12 minutes earlier. It seems as though I haven't been in this hospital for years but in reality it's just almost a year. The female doctor's and nurses be like 'He's so fuck worthy' in their dirty little minds when they set eyes on Connor. It kinda makes me jealous.

I took the time that I had to meet some of my doctor friends that work with me or listen to my orders. I do surgeries and operations. I also give orders to nurses, doctors and interns.

" Amanda! " a male voice yelled. I quickly turned around to see Jacob running toward me like his life depended on it. " Jacob!" I yelled as I ran to meet him halfway. He lifted me off of the floor and spun me around.

This action obviously caught the attention of other workers and Connor.

Once Jacob set my feet on the ground I got surrounded by people all greeting me. Jacob's hand was around my waist.

Ding! I got a text message.

I pulled out my phone and saw that it was from Connor.

'He's too close.'

I looked over to where he was. He was encircled by slutty nurses and doctors who wanna get laid. Even through all of this he just stood there glaring at Jacob and his arm that was on my waist. Bingo! Time to make him jealous.

Me: He's just a close friend of mine, no need to be all possessive and stuff.

I could see him ball his hands into fists and his face turned red as I leaned in closer to Jacob while I chatted away with Karen, a doctor just to make him even more jealous.

Within seconds I felt myself being ripped out of Jacob's grip.

"Dude what the hell?!" Jacob yelled.

Connor just stood there with a blank expression before looking at his watch. " We didn't come here to chat. We have an appointment to get to so, come on." He said, looking at me.

Jacob looked at me with wide eyes "Fiancee? "

I opened my mouth to reply but Connor beat me to it. " Yes, fiancee. We'll be getting married in a month or two."

Jacob laughed. "Marriage? Fiancee? Might as well just put a baby in the equation. "

I dropped my head shyly.

"No need, that's already taken care of." Connor said while glaring at him.

" Huh?" He looked at us puzzled.

"What do you think we're here for? A reunion? Obviously not. I'd say it was nice meeting you but then I'd be lying."

Connor then placed his hand on my waist and lightly shoved me to where the lady at the counter was staring at us in pure shock- just like everyone else we left behind.

When we headed off to where the lady told us to go, I heard someone shout. " You scored big, Amanda!" It was definitely Karen.

I just giggled and head into the room where the doctor waited for us.

About a minute or two a doctor walked in. She was holding a stethoscope around her neck and her left hand was sealed tightly around a clipboard while the right was fidgeting a pen.

" Good morning are you Amanda and Connor?" She asked, looking down at the clipboard.

" Yes." Connor replied.

" Alrightie then. Let's go checkup on your baby. "She said.

I laid on the bed and she asked me to lift up my shirt - which I did, then she placed a clear coloured gel on my stomach. She then took up the wand and placed it over my stomach before pressing a button on a monitor looking thingy. The screen lit up immediately and she then rolled the wand over my stomach.

Two small dots appeared on the screen and I immediately smiled. I'll just sit this one out just to see Connor's reaction.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked impatiently.

" It's too early to find out your babies' gender but we will find out once they are more developed. " she replied.

Not realizing what the doctor meant he said "Okay thank yo- wait what? they?"

I chuckled. " Connor,"He turned to look at me "Hmm?"

"we're having twins."

"You have got to be kidding me." He mumbled before fainting right beside the bed.
