Eternal Shadows: Moonlit Justice

Chapter 9

"Hi," Thomas says, "My god, what have they done to you!" He moves over to her and tries to help her out of the chains. "Ellie! Your clothes! What did they do! Did they..." He tries to break the chains off the wall.

She turns away from him and answers, "It's fine, I've got it." She yanks the chains out of the wall. Then she removes them off of her arms. The handcuffs have left nasty wounds on her wrists, she looks up at Thomas and says, "Let's kill these motherfuckers."

"Wait," Thomas says softly. He pulls his shirt off. "Before we kill everyone. Put this on?" He hands the shirt to her. She takes it and pulls it over her head. It's too big for her, so it covers most of her body.

The cell is made of silver, which is deadly to werewolves, but not shifters. Thomas, with the help of Ellie, breaks down the cell door. They walk out, Ellie turns to Thomas and asks, "Do you have any extra weapons?"

"Of course." He hands her a gun, filled with a silver bullet, and a silver knife. Two men come into the jail, they see Thomas and Ellie standing in the middle of the jail.

"Hey! Get back into your cell!"

"Yeah," Ellie starts to answer, "I don't think so." She gracefully dodges the man's attack. "Now die!" Ellie plunges the knife into the man's body. He crumples to the ground, the floor quickly turns scarlet."Well..." "He's dead!" Ellie turns her attention to the other man.

He stares at her, by the time he starts to run, she's already next to him. She thrusts the knife into his heart, He instantly dies, he falls onto her and she carelessly drops him onto the floor. She turns to Thomas and says, "Well, that was fun."
"Hey," Thomas says, "calm down will you? Your eyes have gone scarlet."

She takes several deep breaths, when she looks back up at him, her eyes have returned to their normal icy blue color. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself. They beat me just for fun!"

"It's okay. I understand. Just don't go crazy and attack me."

"Okay." They walk out of the dungeon, continuing their search for the boss man. As they look they run into pack members. Thomas stands back and lets Ellie take care of them. By the time they find the boss man, everyone else is dead, Ellie's eyes have gone scarlet again, and she's covered in blood.

The boss is in his office, with some lady who looks very nervous and unsure of herself. He's groping her, this angers Ellie even more and she throws a pot at him to get his attention.

He looks up and sees them. "How did you..." He calls for help.

"Don't bother," Ellie says in a flat tone, everyone else is dead."

"How.." he asks

"I killed them all." She smiles maniacally at him. "I told you when my brother found me we would kill each and every one of you." There's absolutely no emotion in her voice, in fact it seems like she's enjoying what she's doing.

Thomas stands quietly behind her. (thinking) There's no way in hell he'll get in her way now. "Come on man, use your brain. Don't mess with her when her eyes are that color. I mean for god's sake they're red! Now to mention she's physically stronger, of course, the drawback to that is that her emotions turn off completely."

The boss charges her without hesitation. Ellie stands there, unmoving. He pulls out a silver knife and plunges into her side. He smiles evilly at her. "There," he says, "how does that feel?"

Once he lets go, she grips onto the knife and pulls it out of her. She tosses it onto the ground. "That hurt." she says calmly

"What? That should've affected you."

"You don't know? My brother and I aren't werewolves, you dumbass. Silver isn't deadly to us." Ellie moves in closer to him. Thomas walks over to the young woman, who has chosen to hide under a desk.

"Hey," he says, '"it's okay you can come out. She won't hurt you.

"But...but I'm his wife," she answers softly.

"Yes, but you didn't physically hurt her though, you didn't pull her away from her one-year old son."

The young woman's eyes widen. She comes out slowly. When she's fully visible, her swollen stomach is revealed. Thomas smiles gently at her when he realizes why she had been hiding

The young woman looks nervously at Thomas. "Don't worry," he says quietly, "she won't hurt you..." "Or your pup."

"But it's his."

"It might be, but it's against her morals." Thomas looks over to find Ellie over top of the man. She's stabbing him with a knife, over and over again. He walks over to her and gently grabs her arm.

"Ellie," he says, "stop he's dead." Ellie stops and turns to look at him. Her eyes are still scarlet. She turns to face the young woman, who's staring in horror at the bloody mess Ellie had made.

She stands up and starts to walk over to the young woman. "Ellie!" Thomas tackles her to the ground. "Stop Ellie! She hasn't gotten anything to do with this! She had no idea you were here!"

Ellie's eyes soften, "Really?" she says as her voice softens.

The young woman has walked over to them. "Yes," she answers, "I swear I didn't know. I would've helped you if I knew!" She starts to cry.

Ellie stands up and goes to her, "It's okay." she says quietly, "it's not your fault. Come with us. We're going to the police station."

"No! I can't!"

"No, we're not reporting you! We're just reporting back to the sheriff. We'll explain to her you had nothing to do with it and you can go on living your life."
