"Shonta! Get your fat butt out of bed!"

What a charming wakeup call from my charming sister, Eldritch. Can you feel the love? My name is Shonta Crow. I'm the eldest daughters born to the second son of clan Crow, and this is my life.

Clan Crow was once known for siering witches gifted in battle magic. I'm told we kind of rocked Ireland back when Druidism was still thriving. My dad and his brothers were no exception to this mold, but his marriage to my mom kind of smashed that mold into a million billion little tiny pieces, that she then collected and crafted three daughters out of the shards, a mosaic of sorts.

I like the mosaic thing, so I'm gonna stick with that analogy. Eldritch, yes its a boys name just don't tell her, is my youngest sister. She's what one might call rough around the edges. As in you run your finger over the surface and need to get stitches; rough around the edges. Still for all her flaws, she shows a crazy amount of potential. She's got an aura, I mean image that could make a man bleed just by looking at her, or him looking at her. With a look, is the point, she could kill with a look. This is why I hate analogies.

Gail is the middle child. She would be the sanded and polished mosaic that shines like a fucking mirror, and everyone talks about how beautiful she is. And at first it seems like the mosaic is just pretty and stuff, but soon enough you come to find it's better than you at everything. Seriously, everything, and she hardly even works at it, it's just like bam, she's can do everything she sees like a reflection, and all the hard work and negativity that comes with it just slide right off her stupidly smooth surface. I bet some days she doesn't have a single thought in her head, and just runs on... Wow, I'm starting to sound bitchy, moving on.

Then, there's me, the average nothing special mosaic that hold sentimental value, because it was your first, but is otherwise forgettable. Ok, I'm being a bit dramatic, I thinks I'm still mom's favorite, and I can do plenty of things better than my sisters, but still. I work my ass off every day to stay on top. I've spent my life keeping ahead of the two headed long shadow that are my Siblings. But the good new is, I finally have my shot to break away.

3 Days ago I received my key to Arcadia class 662 for English speaking magicians. This was my chance. Living in an all magic family, my sisters and I knew the basics, simple seals and some incantations to focus our auras. But now, that I'm actually going to Arcadia I have the chance to actually get ahead, solid year at least maybe two. Point being I..

"Shonta, dad says if you're not down for dinner in five you don't eat." A voice sang thought the walls.

"Tell him I'm coming Gail, I haven't even put my makeup on yet." I called back out to the hallway.

"I don't think makeups gonna, fix that." Spewed Eldritch, now standing fully in my door way.

"Could you be nice for like five minutes?" I leered back at her. "What are you even doing in my room?"

"I think she was insulting you. I thought you'd be used to it by now." Gail chimed in biting into her morning apple.

"Thanks, Gail. Now if you two don't mind, I still have some packing to do. I don't know if you remember or not, but one of us is leaving for Arcadia today." Ok, I grinded, I was gloating, sue me. I don't get a lot of chances to boast.

"Dud," Gail said with another bite. "That why she's bugging you, before you leave."

"Shut up, Gail!" she snapped, with hell in her eyes.

"Aww, you're gonna miss me, that so cute." I leaned over to try and hug Eldritch, but she just pushed away.

"Go drown in a lake." she said pouting her heels down the stairs.
