Golden eyes opened, their body glowing gold for a second before it faded, the fur turning shiny black once more. Y/N knew what had happened, they had been taught in their training. They couldn't die, not unless their timelord did. The thought of their timelord caused Y/N to eruptly jump up from the dirty ground, shaking out their fur as they sniffed the air. The Doctors scent was far away, he was still on Gallifrey, but he was miles and miles away. A whimper left Y/N at the feeling of overwhelming sadness come cross the telepathic bond. The Doctor was sad.
The war was still going on, Y/N stumbled through the battlefield, their pace turning to a run as the feeling of desperation spread over the bond.
And then, something happened. The Doctors scent was gone. He was no longer on Gallifrey.
An indescribable pain filled their heart, had the Doctor left them?
Focusing on the memories from training, Y/N concentrated on the time inside them, willing themselves to travel through space and time to find the Doctor. It was an odd feeling, their body started to burn bright gold, their cells fading as they transported. They could feel the time vortex, literal time flowing through their veins. They were about to let go, to feel their being be swept away into the vortex to locate the Doctor when a blast happened.
Being too focused on their task, they didn't notice the blast until they felt it. A blazing feeling filled them, flowing along with the time vortex in their veins, the new unknown feeling melding with the time in them. And then everything turned gold. And Gallifrey was gone.
"It just occurred to me, this is what I'm like when I'm alone." A laughing voice was the first thing they heard, their vision still golden. And then, they could feel hard ground beneath them. Then, gasps of shock.
"Y/N?" Three voices asked simultaneously, Y/N's vision slowly moving back into focus.
Trying to stand, they stumbled before a pair of arms caught them, slowly lowering Y/N to sit in the persons lap.
Y/N knew who it was before their vision had returned, it was the Doctor, their Doctor.
"How are they here?! They died!" A old sounding voice that Y/N recognised as the Doctor spoke in bewilderment.
"Oh right, you've just came from the war. Y/N survived it." Another voice spoke, but Y/N ignored it, focusing on regaining control of their limbs.
"Hey, you're okay." A smooth voice sounded from above Y/N, their vision finally returning so that they could see a man in a suit with spiked hair, he smelled of the Doctor.
"You're safe." Y/N spoke across the bond with relief, all three men being able to hear them.
"You know me, I'm always safe." The man in the bow tie, who also smelled like the Doctor, spoke causing the one holding Y/N to snort amused. The old man, who they knew to be the Doctor, reminded silent as he watched in shock.
"There's three of you." Y/N spoke with confusion, managing to stand on their own.
"Ah yes, long story, bit of a paradox." The bow tie Doctor smiled, waving his hands in the air as he spoke.
"What happened? You left." A whimper left Y/N as two of the Doctors looked to them with confusion.
"What do-?"
"I though you were dead. I did what I had to." The old looking Doctor spoke up, shame covering his face as he slowly approached with caution.
"Oh." Bow tie and sand shoes spoke at the same time, it would have been funny if the situation was different. Realisation of where Y/N he come from making them stutter.
"Gallifrey?" Y/N asked the question is a timid voice, sensing the saddened atmosphere, scared for the answer they would receive.
"It was destroyed." Bow tie crouched by Y/N, Running his hand though their fur in comfort.
"WE destroyed it." Sand shoes glared before his expression turned to sorrow.
"It was the only way."
"And the timelords?" Y/N voice broke.
"Gone." Y/N didn't pay attention to which one spoke, instead curling into a ball whimpering in sadness as they mourned the lost race. All of the familiars would be gone too.
It took some time before Y/N came back to reality, the bow tie wearing Doctor had stayed by them, stroking their fur comfortingly whilst the other two worked to get the cell door open. Eventually, their whimpers turned to purrs as the Doctor embraced them. Their Doctor was safe, he was alive, that was all that mattered to them.
