Spinel

It felt as if all the air has been forced out of my lungs. The incomprehensible sensation of panic rips through me. It seems foreign and yet a feeling I haven't seemed to have worn off after coming to Earth the first time. And it's now come back twice as hard on my second visit.

Probably because I shouldn't be here.

The clang of the door hitting the floor becomes an intangible barrier between me and my intruders. The rejuvenator feels sweaty in my hands. The first time wielding this weapon was a result of uncontrolled emotion mixed with the utter want for revenge. But now, I don't have any of that power behind my stance. No anger fuels my want to bring destruction. Or defense.

But after seeing who is truly on the other side, I can't tell if I feel relieved...or more worried. Would I feel better if enemies were the ones abusing the ship? Or even total strangers? Cause I don't know how I feel when I see Steven and Garnet on the other side of the demolished door.

Garnet's charged up fist is aimed where the door was once hanging. And standing behind her, is a surprised Steven. With Garnet's offensive stance still engaged, I don't know what to expect. I feel worry crease my brow against my will. I don't want to fight them. I already have too many times.

But before I could do anything, Steven rushes into the ship. Instead of dropping my guard, I take a few surprised steps back. Scythe still hanging low in both of my hands, ready to block any kind of attack. "Spinel, what are you doing here?" I breathe in sharply, not expecting any questions.

"Uh...visiting?" I give, a suspicious reply from a suspicious person. Garnet picks up on my unease, reluctant to drop her guard, even if Steven did so. But that doesn't mean she didn't follow him into the ship. "Is everything okay?" Garnet asks, in her always-so-serious tone.

I plaster on a goofy smile, forcing myself to respond. "Of course!" Putting on my old act, trying to be their 'Best Friend', almost makes me wonder if it was better to just be the villain again. Then I wouldn't have to give all of this half answers. Speaking of answers, Steven and Garnet look at me, expecting me to give further explanation.

I can feel a single drop of sweat roll down the side of my face. Maybe I should have thought of something. I glance over to the window on the ship, almost feeling the intense stare that Garnet is giving me. The hillside rolls into ocean. Of course this had to be on top of Steven's house, the place where I landed the first time.

That must be why they got up here so quickly. Wait, I landed on the Injector. The poison. I retract the rejuvenator and turn back to the duo. A rusty smile fills into my expression as a robotic response registers through my mind.

"I am here to make sure that all the damage the Bio-Poison caused, has been fixed."
