"Alright, now that the explanation is over," Mr Aizawa turned to us. "Team (Y/N), your team heads in first." I tensed up at the thought of us going first, both my shoulders rose up. "The rest of the class, head to the monitoring room," he ordered the class.
"Right!" Our classmates responded to our teacher. Ochako and Tsu turned to me and gave me a thumbs-up, encouraging me. I turned my head towards them, smiled and quickly nodded. As they turned their backs on me, I looked up at the building, my mind wandering.
We're first? We had no idea what to expect, unlike the Indoor Combat Training where we could monitor the first two teams and plan out our strategy. I did not realise that I was spacing out until Bakugou snapped me back into reality. "Oi, Nensho," he groaned. "Stop standing there already. You look stupid."
I focused on the mission and rolled my eyes at Bakugou. Kirishima took out his map of the building. We formed a little circle and started discussing. Our plan was to enter the building through one of the vents, entering a room and sneaking into the main room. After finalising the plan, we headed to a vent as planned. It was high up in the air so we had to help each other up. "I'll go up first!" Kirishima enthusiastically proclaimed. I nodded and hummed at him. He activated his quirk and hardened his fingertips. Kirishima dug his sharp fingers into the wall and started to climb up. Once he was around the same level as the vent, he used his pointed fingers to unscrew the cover and gave it to me. Quietly, I put it down on the ground next to me as Kirishima got in. Meanwhile, Bakugou was just staring at us with an irritated expression as we did the work. Kirishima deactivated his quirk and extended out his hand towards me. I tilted my head up to see him smiling at me, revealing his sharp teeth. I grinned back and grabbed onto his hand without wasting time. He pulled me up as I latched my feet onto the wall and tried to climb up.
When I got in, I turned around and extended my hand for Bakugou, like how Kirishima helped me up. "Grab on," I commanded him. He narrowed his eyes at me and looked at my hand with a slight pout.
"Don't tell me what to do," he said angrily. "I-I'm not holding onto that! I'll find a way to get up myself."
I rolled my eyes. "Now's not the time to be childish, Bakugou," I growled. "Don't you dare use your quirk to get up here."
"Bakugou," Kirishima called him from over my shoulder. "Just hurry up already, man. You're wasting our time!" Finally, Bakugou growled and gave in. He grabbed my hand and I pulled him up. We crawled in one of the vents. I followed Kirishima who had the map and Bakugou was on my tail. Occasionally, we would pass by vent covers that allowed us to peek inside. So far, we haven't made a mistake yet. Finally, we reached the room we planned on going into. Kirishima used his quirk on his finger and started to carve out a hole through the vent. He jumped down and Bakugou and I followed suit.
As expected, we landed in some broom closet, which meant things got pretty claustrophobic real quick. Wanting to get out of there as soon as possible, I opened the door slightly and peeked outside. I scanned for any enemy bots despite not knowing what they looked like, but I kind of had an idea. The boys opened the door and peeked their heads out as well. The main room was just outside the broom closet we were in, I can make a run for it.
I attempted to dash for it but I felt someone grab my wrist. I growled lowly and turned my head around, wondering which of the boys grabbed me. The boy pulled me back into the confined room and shoved me against the wall. He pinned my wrists near the sides of my head and towered over me. "Slow your ass down, Nensho," the boy mumbled. I looked up to see beautiful red eyes staring into mine. His ash-blond hair fell on his eyes. "You nearly got caught by the security camera," Bakugou muttered as Kirishima opened the door slightly and pointed up at the ceiling. Indeed there was a camera that was moving left to right slowly. God, how did I not see that?
Kirishima turned to us and his eyes widened with discomfort. "Uhm, Bakugou? (Y/N)?" He whispered to us. We both turned to him, waiting for him to continue. "Can you two take a good look at yourselves?" He pointed at us with a shaking hand and uneasy smile.
Bakugou and I looked back at each other. Our eyes found each other again. I couldn't help but stare into his. They were honestly such a beautiful colour. Bakugou's narrowed eyes made me feel something in my stomach. His strong hands gripped my inferior wrists tightly. Due to the cramped space, his body and face were so close to mine. My heart was racing and my face was burning up. I felt his hot breath on my lips. His face was also as red as... Kirishima's hair. We stayed in that position for only a second before pushing each other off. "What the hell, Bakugou?" I softly scolded him, feeling flustered. "Why'd you do that, huh?"
Bakugou softly landed on Kirishima. "Well, how else was I supposed to drag you back in and restrain you?" He responded back.
"Y-You didn't have to hold me like that, idiot!"
"Okay, come on, guys that's enough," Kirishima's attempt at calming us down was successful as he held on to one of our shoulders. Now, we have to focus on the mission. I tried to push the embarrassing moment to the back of my mind so I can think about it later. We waited until the camera in the hallway looked away then we took action. Quickly, we ran to the door and opened it. The room was dark and filled with boxes and machines. We saw around three enemy bots in the middle. The three of us dropped down immediately and went to hide behind a box, our backs against the said box. I was at the corner of the object so I peeked for the rest. The coast was clear and I gestured to them to follow me. We crawled to the next hiding spot successfully. "Hey, (Y/N)? I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go out and eat something after school?" Kirishima asked me quietly.
Why's he asking me this now? "Now's not the time, Kiri," I whispered back at him.
Kirishima opened his mouth to say something but Bakugou didn't allow him to speak a word. "She said "Now's not the time", Weird Hair," Bakugou growled at him. Unfortunately, this alerted the enemy bots.
"Shit!" I silently cursed under my breath. I grabbed Kirishima and hid behind a different object. Bakugou followed us. I peeked my head above the box and I saw one of the robots coming over to where we were and investigating the area. "Damn, that was close..!" I shot both boys a death glare before we moved. Kirishima gave me an apologetic look in return but Bakugou didn't seem to care. We got close enough to the two robots conversing. They kept repeating the numbers: "5276." I believed this was our exit pass so I turned back to the boys and nodded.
As we slowly made our way back to the room's only entrance, I kept repeating the numbers in my head. I checked the way and it was good to go. We slowly opened the door and dashed out. The boys followed behind me and into the broom closet. I volunteered to go last. Bakugou helped Kirishima up and Kirishima pulled Bakugou up with me pushing him up. I turned to my right as something caught my eye. It was another spider. What's with all these spiders? They're literally everywhere. This spider looked the same as the other two spiders I found. Furry body, green eyes that were almost glowing.
"Oi, Nensho," Bakugou muttered out. "Stop spacing out, damned idiot, we have to leave." I turned up and nodded. He extended his hand and I grabbed it. We followed Kirishima towards the same vent we entered through. When we got there, Mr Aizawa was waiting there with the same sleepy expression.
"What's the code?" He asked us.
I tensed up and replied with what came into my head. "5276!" I responded confidently. Mr Aizawa grinned and nodded as he put some kind of microphone or walkie-talkie close to his mouth. "Team (Y/N) has succeeded in the mission, the next team is Team Ashido."
