Chapter 18

We were in the middle of nowhere and it was pitch dark around us. I have no idea why Jake would meet those drug dealers here. I mean this place was no less than a horror movie's set.
Aiden was sitting on a rock behind the bushes as I stood up trying to spot Jake and those men.

I felt Aiden grab my hands and pull me down right onto his lap.

"Shh Cupcake. Don't move or make any noise. We don't want them to see us..do we?"He said putting a finger on my lip.

I nodded before carefully making my space on his lap and trying to look at their faces through the bushes.

"Why are you anyways trying to save that idiot. He is a major idiot . He can do anything for money, so why shouldn't we make use of him" A guy, whose face was blocked my Jake's huge body argued.

"Because I want you to." Jake replied with equal fervour.

"You're not our boss" he comtinued .

"Listen I saved you guys the last time you were in shit, now it's your turn to return the favour,and I want you to leave Cole alone."Jake said

"Your favour will be returned ,but the time ,date and day will be decided by us. Right now, we are in no mood to spare that traitor Cole" he said spitefully.

"You can't go back on your words. I swear, I will go and give all the proof to the police and get your entire gang arrested " Jake threatened.

"And you cannot threaten us" he said with a hint of arrogance in his voice.

"I can and I will" Jake replied in a threatening tone again .

"Boys"I heard the guy shout before I saw a big gang of men suddenly surrounding Jake while one of them punched him right across his face.

"NO...Jake" I screamed before I knew what was happening. I sprang out of Aiden's lap as I tried to make my way towards Jake.

I was immediately pulled back into his lap with a strong grip.

"Aide-"I said before being cut off

"I know. I will not let anything happen to him. Meanwhile you need to hide cupcake. We can't let them see you!" He said as he rushed towards Jake. .

Aiden kept hiding behind the bushes as he crept towards them. He reached right behind one of the members of the gang and grabbed his mouth and his arm from behind.

I couldn't see what he did to him. But I could see Jake's face that was half covered in blood due to their blows. Fuck. I need to do something. I can sit here waiting for Aiden to take all of them down.

I immediately collected all the sand that was there near me and stepped out of my hiding spot. I need to stop them or they will kill my brother.

"Hey you dicks." I screamed as I neared them trying to pull their attention towards me so that they leave Jake alone.

As they looked up at me I immediately blew all the sand that I had collected  into their eyes.

"Hailes......ouch..fuck" I heard Jake say as he tried to open his eyes.

"Jakie...." I said as I neared him. I touched his face which smeared with blood. His one eye had turned black and he winced in pain as I touched it. Tears left my eyes as I had a look at the rest of his body.

"Oh hii Miss Hailey"I heard an unknown voice say.

I trembled in fear. A hand reached behind my neck and caught it. He held my neck and  turned me towards his face. I suppose he was the "Boss" since I remember him ordering the guys to hit Jake.

He smirked as he held me by my neck.

"Nice to meet your family Smith" he said smirking .

"Le...leave her...you..you  asshole, I swear if you put a finger on her... I ..I wi...will  make sure you rot in hell" I heard Jake threaten them in his half dead condition.

"Ha I'm surprised you can talk Smith" He said without glancing at my brother even once.

He immediately increased the pressure near my neck as I struggled to breathe.

"Ahh.." I screamed   .

"Leave her....I ....I will do anything...please ..I beg you guys"I heard Jake say as he tried getting up .

Immediately we heard a gun shot.

"LEAVE HER . OR I KILL YOU. RIGHT NOW." I heard a familiar voice appearing from behind the man.

I saw the owner of the voice put a gun behind the head of the guy who was strangling me.

"Aiden" I whisper escaped my lips.

"What the-  how did you get the gun" the man who was holding my neck said as he immediately left my neck.

"I know all of you have guns. Drop them now. Or your boss here, gets killed" Aiden said as he tucked the gun on the man's head.

"Do ..as he says" the man said as raised his hands.

I saw everyone drop their guns.

"Cupcake..take Jake and run" I heard Aiden say.

"Uh..but what about you?" I asked.

"Cupcake just RUN! "Aiden said harshly.

"But...what about you?" I asked again.

"Just do as I say Hailey. Take  your brother and fucking leave!" I heard him scream.

"Hailes.....he's right..we should leave.."I heard Jake say as he limped towards me .

He held my hand for support. I immediately held his shoulder and tried to help him walk. It took time for Jake to walk but I tried supporting him on our way out of the jungle
