My Brother's Rival

Chapter 15

"What the hell were you doing with him Hailes!?" Jake screamed at the top of his voice as soon as we exited the hospital.

"I have already said this to you, I don't like repeating myself, but yeah, it's my life, so stop acting like my father!" I yelled.

What does he think. He's the only alpha make here!? I'm his sister and I'm no less.

"dint you see how that asshole behaved! And you're still taking his side! I can't believe this. Where's your self respect?  He roared.

"Oh, you must have lost  it when you slept with him.!Dint you?" he said spitefully.

Wait. What did he just say? No, after all this he can't be the one saying this.His words cut deep through my heart. Did my brother just call me slut? My eyes became wet. But this was not because of self pity. This was my anger. And then, I did something I don't think I'll ever regret.

I slapped him. I slapped my brother.
To say he was shocked would be an understatement. His face was devoid if any emotion. He picked himself whithin few minutes and murmured.
"Get in the car, we have to go home"

Knowing Jake, this wasn't the reaction I anticipated. I thought he would yell at me, insulting me further. But he did quite the opposite.

We reached home in sometime. In the entire journey, not once, did Jake try to start a conversation with me. Not that it bothered me. He was the one who crossed the line. And what I did was out of pure anger. So it's justified. Or at least I hope so.

I was laying on my bed replaying all the incidents that took place today. I can safely say, today was quite eventful. First Cole getting drugged, then seeing  a 360 degree change in Aiden's behaviors, and finally fighting with Jake. And the worst part is, I don't know which of these were worse.

My phone beeped.
"Cupcake... We need to talk"

Seriously? Was that the best kind of apology he could come up with. I ignored his message and tried to sleep again.

My phone beeped again.

"Cupcake.. Please.. Let me just explain myself once."

Wow. That's the best he could come up with. No sorry. No forgive me kind of messages. He's damn cocky, I thought. I can't deal with two bastards at the same time.

"Really, I can't believe Jake said that" I heard Kate say with a little confusion mixed in her voice.

"he's a jerk" I said showing no emotion on my face.

"I'm sure, he must be damn pissed" she said tryi g to reason out his behavior.

"Whatever, but he still can't say that. Atleast not to his own sister"  I said annoyed by the fact that Kate wanted to defend Jake. Wasn't she supposed to be my best friend?

"Yeah but Aiden did cross the line" she   said not recognizing my annoyance.

"whatever" I said as I left from the locker room to move towards my class.

I took my seat beside the nerd George.

"Hey, what's up!?" I heard the nerd say.

"Sky, I guess" I said trying to be humurous.

"Nope" he said popping the 'p'. "it's the roof"

"Wow! Smarty Pants!" I said sarcastically.

I could see a hint of 'red' forming over his cheeks. Was he blushing? Oh my God. I just got the biggest nerd of the school blushing for me. That's new. Maybe I could use this hour for some more  fun.
