By the time Alixandria and the Doctor were travelling down a rural pathway, a steady shower had begun to fall, soaking them to the bones. The Doctor's blonde hair had turned brown, sticking to his face and neck. Alixandria's wet dress kicked up mud and clung to her legs. A large plantation soon came into view, stealing the traveller's attention away from the green ferns and moss of the forest surrounding them. They trudged up to the stairs to the white door, and the Doctor lifted the knocker before bringing it down on the wood.

Moments later, a servant, dressed in a simple brown gown and white apron, answered. "May I help you?"

"We're looking for Benjamin Franklin," The Doctor said, blowing droplets of water from his lip. "Mmm," he looked over at Alixandria. "You can really taste the lack of pollution."

"Great to know," she rolled her eyes. The servant eyed them wearily before shutting the door and going off to get Benjamin Franklin. Moments later, a tall, thin young man with a ponytail of brown hair came to the door.

"Can I help you?" He asked.

"Yes, you can," said the Doctor. "We need to know everything you do on lightning." Alixandria rolled her eyes. That really was the worst way to ask for help. Not that she could've done better.

"Do I know you?" Benjamin asked.

"Nope," said the Doctor, popping the 'p'. "I'm the Doctor. At least, I'm called the Doctor. I call me the Doctor too. And this is-"

"I'm Alixandria," I cut him off, introducing myself.

"Well, Miss Alixandria, it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance," he bowed, and, to Alixandria's surprise, he gently kissed the top of her hand.

"And how about mine?" The Doctor held out his hand. Benjamin stiffened.

"Please don't," Alixandria winced.

"W-would you like to come inside? We can talk by the fire. Miss Alixandria, you're welcome to put on something that is dry and better compliments your beauty," he held the door open.

Alixandria smiled, blushing. "Master Franklin, don't flatter me!" She walked into the mansion.

A servant instantly greeted Alixandria. "Right this way, please." She lead Alixandria to a powder room. "If wouldn't mind, miss, if you could undress. I'll give you a dry robe and we can go fetch a dry gown for you."

"Thanks," Alixandria said, beginning to violently rip the dress off once she was in the large powder room. She opened the door a crack, and the servant handed her a soft dressing robe.

Meanwhile, the Doctor sat in the Franklin's parlour. His grey eyes watched Ben warily, dissecting every little flaw. Freckles splotched his face. Gross, he thought. Who likes freckles? To be honest, he did...Ben's tight breeches made the Doctor chuckle. How stupid.

"Would you like some tea?" He asked. The Doctor narrowed his eyes.

"No," he tried not to sneer.

"Alixandria is a beautiful girl, is she not?" Ben asked as he sat by the fire.

"Yes..."

"Is she yours?"

"She's not anyone's," the Doctor snapped icily. He face-palmed. "I meant, she won't belong to anyone. She's her own person."

"Is not that to be her choice?"

"...She told me," the Doctor said after a brief pause. Ben didn't seem to believe him, but nodded anyway, his brown eyes seeming to stare down the Doctor, just as the Doctor stared him down. Out of the corner of his eye, the Doctor saw a flash of red. He turned swiftly, getting ready to sonic the life out of whatever was there.

But it was Alixandria.

"What are you two doing?" She demanded hotly, seeing as they were staring at her. The soft looking red dress she wore had gold accents, the sleeves hugging her arms. It reminded Alixandria of something Queen Ceresi would wear from Game of Thrones.

"We were going to start discussing Ben's studies on electricity," the Doctor said, turning his attention back to Franklin.

"Electricity?" Frowned Benjamin. "As in lightning?"

"Yes," said Alixandria as she lowered herself into a seat.

"What a bore!" He chuckled. "No, no. I'm working on something much more...world-changing. I can see it being so vital to our lives, it would still be used in the 20th century, perhaps."

"What?" Asked the Doctor.

"Daylight savings time."

"What?" The Doctor asked again. Alixandria snorted.

"Daylight savings time. You probably have not heard of it," he said, and Alixandria noticed he puffed out his chest a bit.

"Wow," Alixandria laughed, shaking her head. "Nice one, Doctor."

"Will you shut up?" He snapped. "And, Mister Franklin, we must be off." The Doctor stood up.

"Where are you going?" Benjamin asked.

The Doctor ignored him. "C'mon, Ixan."

"Coming," she said, following him out the door.

"Wait," Benjamin ran up to Alixandria, grabbing her hand.

"Will I ever see you again?"

"Probably not," Alixandria admitted. "Not that the Doctor would ever want me to." With that, she ran back out into the rain, trying to catch up with the Doctor. Most of the people in the town square had taken cover, but a few still lingered. With the snap of his fingers, the Doctor opened the TARDIS.
