The Doctor stood in front of Alixandria, a threaded needle in his hand. His other hand held a warm cloth to her forehead. They were in the medical bay, Alixandria sitting on one of the beds. The Doctor pulled away the bloody cloth and stared intently at her wound. The girl shifted awkwardly as he pinned her against the ground with his stare. And he wasn't even directly looking at her.

"Alrighty then," he muttered.

"Wait," Alixandria put up her hand. "Shouldn't you disinfect it? I mean, I'm a teenager. My face is basically an advertisement for non-stick cooking spray."

"It'd hurt..." The Doctor warned.

"Well yeah, duh." She rolled her eyes. "So does gangrene." The Doctor shrugged and pulled antibacterial wipes from a drawer. He pulled one out and gingerly wiped her forehead, and even lighter-her wound. Alixandria hissed lowly, her hands gripping the edge of the bed until her knuckles were pale.

"Alright?" The Doctor asked.

"For the most part. Just get it done with so I can go have a smoke," she snapped. There was an awkward silence as the Doctor started the first stitch. And another as he started the second. And the third. And all the rest.

"So," the Doctor exclaimed, as if to interrupt the silence. "What do you like to do for fun?"

"Math," she shrugged. "You?"

"Kill Daleks," he said simply. Alixandria gave him a look. "What? It heightens my self esteem...Why do you like math so much? It's boring."

"Yeah, it's boring," Alixandria snapped. "But there are rules in math, and none in life. People like to read as an escape, but anything can happen in a book. Mistakes are made. People die. There are problems. Just like life. In math, you can't break the set rules. There is what there is and there isn't what there isn't."

"I suppose that makes sense...but don't you love an adventure? A turn for the worse?"

"I live in Suburgatory. What do you think?"

"I suppose you're right," he muttered and quietly finished the medical work. "There." The Doctor stepped back, washing his hand once again.

She smiled softly, gazing into a mirror. "Now I look tough."

"Nah," he said. "You don't need the stitches to be tough. That's already in you."

Alixandria soon found herself back in the console room, icing her wound and demanding answers.

"Why didn't you ask me any of these before?" The Doctor exclaimed.

"Because I knew the answers would be cruel and unusual, which would cause stress and bloodflow-"

"To the head," the Doctor finished quietly. "I'm impressed, you aren't as dumb as I thought you were."

Alixandria rolled her eyes. "So what exactly was that? A malfunction? A storm? Some dipshit messing with you?"

"I'm assuming it was a storm, but I'm not sure how it could effect only one part of the TARDIS..."

"Then could it be someone targeting you?"

"It's probable but how-" he cut himself off, eyes snapping to Alixandria. "How long have you been referring 'us' as me?"

"The entire time I've been here," Alixandria shrugged, leaning on the railing.

"Why?" The Doctor wondered, still gazing at her.

"There is no 'we', Doctor. I'm not sure I want to truly be a part of this. I'll help you this time, but then I want to go home."

"Why?" He repeated. Alixandria heaved a sigh.

"Can we just not start this? The whole time thing is weird and it's a school night and my family will be wondering where I am..."

The Doctor gave a single, harsh laugh. "I don't mean to be rude, but don't lie to me. You and I both know that your parents won't be wondering. Besides, it's not like you care anyway." She gave him an insulted and inquisitive look. "Don't look at me like that, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I know you Alixandria Van Der Wolfe. The only true thing you said was school. Your true drug. The excuse to leave the house and the distraction of life. I'm not surprised you like math in your hell."

Alixandria stared at him, her jaw set. "No offence," she scoffed mockingly. In one swift moment she stood up and left. Alixandria walked briskly through the labyrinth of halls and corridors to her bedroom. She threw herself down on the floor and put in her earbuds. Alixandria was mad. Really mad. How dare the Doctor act like he knew every detail of her life! Most of it was true, but still. He seemed like it was nothing...

Of course he did. The only problems the Doctor has are Daleks and being the electrical storm weatherman. And even if he died, he'd just regenerate.

Kill Everybody by Skrillex reached the volume limit, and Alixandria swore. She wanted to listen to it louder and drown out this strange reality. No such luck though because that's not how the universe works.

There can only be so much fantasy before you hit the rock bottom. Alixandria reached in her backpack, pulling out a perfectly rolled cigarette. She flicked her lighter and light the end. Alixandria puffed on the drug slowly, taking in every drag and watching the smoke exit her mouth with a fascination. Her deep breaths slowed her heart rate and she relaxed. Her body felt light in a sensation similar to one before drifting asleep. She laid on the floor, her body feeling like it was sinking into the floor.

Alixandria accepted it greatly, staring at the cosmos above her, galaxies twirling. Or was just that her mind? Oh well...Skrillex still pounded in her ears, reminding her of that time when she was having the world's smallest mosh pit with her girlfriend. All though it was less violent. With more kissing. And the only drug was their love. But that was in the past. Alixandria's girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend...

Tears prickled in the corners of her eyes. Alixandria stuffed her rolled cigarette back in her mouth, taking a hurried drag. The tears slipped out and ran down her temples to the floor.

She was vaguely aware of a person going to her. It was the Doctor. He began to say something, but Alixandria wasn't listening. He frowned at her and then leaned over her body.

"Oh, Doctor," Alixandria purred. "Make me feel better." His face flushed and then he grabbed her cheek, turning her face towards his, and gazed into her eyes.

"You're a guy," he said. Or that's what she thought he said.

"How did you know?" Alixandria giggled. "I do work at Best Buy."

The Doctor growled. "No, you can't be high. Not now. Not in front of..." Another voice joined the blur.

"Alright, Doctor? Who's this?" Asked a slightly bossy, very green lady...
